"To start, they served our eggs Benedict with wooden-handled knives that were literally broken. The blade was hanging loose because one of the rivets was missing, and the handles were in such poor condition that they seemed almost rotten. As for the food, it matched the deplorable state of the cutlery. The eggs were poorly poached and too runny, the ham was unappetizing, the muffin was undercooked, and the hollandaise sauce was a tasteless, pale version of what it should be. The hash browns were mushy, almost like mashed potatoes. The burger we ordered was even worse than a terrible one we had at a Black Bear Diner. It had the same strange texture and chemical taste as the beef patty, but the bun was stale and gummy, and the tomatoes and other toppings lacked any flavor. The only thing that stood out was the strange taste of the meat. All four of us promised never to return to this place. It was a hugely disappointing experience."

"Nice people but food is low average. I had the featured enchilada mole which tasted more like barbecue sauce (also thick). My spouse had the street tacos and also found them to be low average. The chips and runny salsa were also disappointing. I'm a Negroni fan and asked my server about the featured tropical Mexican Negroni vs the margarita. The Negroni is not good. Fun to be in downtown Vacaville, the restaurant was packed and lively and the people were welcoming. Maybe we ordered wrong...."

"Now, let’s get to the highlight: the tacos. They were absolutely amazing! Each bite was a flavor explosion that would make any taste bud rejoice. We tried the shrimp and chicken tacos wrapped in soft tortillas. The meats were seasoned to perfection, and the tortillas tasted authentically homemade. Every bite was a delight. We simply couldn’t get enough! If you’re looking for a taco experience that will astonish you, you should definitely check out this place."

"Fidel's is a Solana Beach staple for good Mexican food in a family setting. I've enjoyed going to Fidel's many times over the years however since COVID the prices certainly have increased noticeably and the service, while still very friendly, is slower than it once was. Given the prices and service, I just don't go as often."

"Bennys burritos hasn’t disappointed yet. I’ve eaten there twice. I liked their vegan quesadilla and their vegan nachos. The first I ordered delivery and the food was good. Their vegan nachos was good and it was a pretty good serving. The vegan quesadilla I had when I dined in. It was good too. I tried their bulldog with tequila. Was an interesting mix. I recommend anyone to try it if they haven’t had it yet. One of my favorite Mexican places to go to in the city. I’d come back to try other things on the menu."

"I was quite underwhelmed by the restaurant. Having heard positive reviews, we arrived promptly at 4 PM when it opened. Even though we were the first customers, we noticed that other tables had already placed their orders and started eating before we even had the chance to place ours. The waitress apologized, mentioning a phone issue. The kids ordered cheese pizza, which looked appetizing but was barely warm. My wife enjoyed her lasagna, but I was let down by my chicken Alfredo. The portion was small, especially considering the steep price, and while the chicken tasted good, it was cubed, which was an odd presentation choice. Overall, the experience was mediocre, and I expected better given the prices. We were offered dessert but decided to pass upon seeing a sign about a charge for in-house desserts. We didn’t inquire further, as we weren’t interested. This might be a decent spot for locals, but I wouldn’t recommend making the trip if you’re from out of town."

"For vegetarians, this place is not that great. The meat dishes are quite pricey and you pay that expensive price even if you get the food made vegetarian style. I ordered the burrito and it wasn't that great. The only garnish on the plate was a small stalk of cilantro. It doesn't look like something you would see in a photograph. The inside of the burrito was stuffed with entire boiled potatoes with the skin and rice. The guacamole is only in the middle so if you start at an end of the burrito, you won't get any taste/flavor. There is no sauce and barely any cheese. Normally a regular vegetarian burrito has lots of beans, cheese, and sauce. This one barely had any of these. I would not recommend this. Too pricey for a vegetarian and not even that great. I ended up taking it home and adding my own ingredients to make it taste better. I asked for a takeout box at the end. It was a little dusty or dirty but I didn't mind. Then when I came home, I realized that there was a sticker with a name on the box. I guess the employees just recycle their boxes. They should give brand new clean takeout boxes to everyone. The other people I was with said their food was good, so maybe other items on the menu are better, but I wouldn't want to go there again. Also, the restaurant was completely empty during lunch time except for my group. Seemed like a dead place that no one goes to."

"Xico continues to be an upscale event destination for us. Between the beautiful setting (indoors or out) and the quality of the food, we have never been disappointed. A benefit of our most recent visit was a special cocktail menu, entirely made up of 2drinks that were made with gelato from Pinolo, next door. It's a wonderful symbiotic relationship. As for the food, we startedoff with one of the best ceviche experiences I've ever had, followed by truly high end carne asada for me, and a lovely troutpozole for my wife (lovely if you don't mind your dinner staring back at you). Aesthetics aside, it was delicious. The pros onthe wait staff were kind enough to give us a flan to share when they found out we were there on our anniversary. A nice touchthat made a memorable meal just a bit nicer."
