"The whole allure of the restaurant is in its location and atmosphere, it’s beautiful inside, and that’s the only good thing we can say and about it. The food and drinks are lack luster and I would trade the sushi menus with any other restaurant within 30 minutes. The sushi roll options lack depth and innovation, and so many cocktail options are ruined by random “experimentation” style addition of ingredients. This was our second visit and we felt hard pressed to find anything that really stuck out on the menu as unique or different than any standard sushi joint. They do not allow any subbing or additions to their rolls, which wouldn’t bother us if they were serving to the same quality as Ginko, but it’s not even close. Arashi, Blue, Yuzu King, and Shinto around Crocker are all better options if you have an appetite. If they would put more thought into their menu, had a motivated and passionate kitchen it would really take the whole restaurant to another level. Sadly the place feels like a soulless money printing operation like much of the redesigned West Bank. Service was great, but when the food and menu sucks who cares?"
