"Kismat had been a favorite in the Washington Heights neighborhood for as long as I can remember, back when they were half the size they are today. I just had a wonderful dinner experience there with my mom and my dog. It is a wonderful family owned business that offers delicious food and a great happy hour. Although they always had a popular outdoor seating option, during covid they expanded the outdoor seating area and it is comfortable, family and dog friendly. My favorite entree is the salmon and spinach special, it is delicious and generous with their servings of salmon and creamy spinach. Of course an Indian meal isn't complete without an assortment of breads such as my favorite garlic naan. I also highly recommend the mango lassi, but I like to order it to-go and have it separately because otherwise it can fill you up quickly. Overall, such a fantastic restaurant that is perfect whether on a date, with family and friends, or enjoying a drink quietly alone."
