"The owner approached us and mentioned they had stopped serving breakfast, but offered a buffet for $9.99 per plate. He guided us over to the buffet and showed us the options, which were impressive. There were daily specials, and on Sundays, they featured chicken lasagna (delicious and cheesy) and a pork and bean dish with rice, along with another option that I can’t recall. They provide a menu to take home, which is handy.
In addition to the specials, there were standard rice and beans and several other meat dishes, all of which were distinct and flavorful. Though there was a salad bar available, I imagine vegetarians might not find the selection overwhelmingly satisfying. The drink cooler was stocked with unique local sodas, including pineapple and regular and diet guarana varieties.
We piled our plates high with food and chatted with the friendly owner about his choices in soda brands and his dessert recommendations. Feeling full, we opted for some rice pudding to take home, which turned out to be sweet, cinnamon-infused, and simply amazing.
I can't say I remember every dish I tried, but I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of food, the charming decor, and the welcoming atmosphere. It’s located across from a small library, in a spot you wouldn’t expect to find such delicious food!"
