"This Japanese restaurant is so basic. The food was bland; I could have cooked better food at home. I very rarely go out to dinner but I happened to visit this location for a family member 's birthday. I 'm not a small person, but I do have personal goals I am trying to reach. That being said, I asked for the children 's portion of the teriyaki chicken. Rather than accepting my request, I received a comment of I mean, are you just not that hungry? to which I kindly responded, I 'm trying to eat smaller portions, thanks. But, that 's not where it ended. Apparently, you cannot be allowed to order a child 's size portion if you 're an adult. That 's absurd. I don 't want 5 pounds of rice. I only want 1 cup, okay? Rather than question my state of hunger based on my size, kindly inform me that the child size portions are only for children 9 and under. Or, you could put my request in the computer and smile and move on about your night. Heads up!!!! If you 're an individual who 's looking to enjoy themselves at a restaurant, but also trying to be conscious of portion control, I would strongly advise you avoid this place, or prepare yourself to be thrown off by rudeness. How it ended? I ordered sushi. The end. (Complete BS! I only rated 2 stars because our Chef Peter was entertaining and super friendly. This disaster of a restaurant doesn 't deserve the remaining stars due to rudeness."

"we are a little new in calvert county, so we have tried after our neighbour suggested this sakura location. when we were eating at hibachi first it was extremely fat and not good, but she also forgot our suppen and salads. when I called the people to know that this has happened, I said I don't want someone to come into trouble, but I want to make sure that this is being picked up to make sure that nobody else is going to happen. they assured me that the next time we arrived there, when we visit their establishment, that we will be put together in some way and wisely. it is now four weeks later and I called to see what they could do so that we could be long-term customers, but we were hit not to find that we were there before. I said I have a credit card and I can prove that I was in her operation and that it was a bad meal. I told them it was worse than having a Sakura expression, and at that point the person on the phone gave me to the manager. When the manager started talking to me, he was immediately rude and dismayable. I told him the same story that I answered the person the phone manager and he replied: “I guess they have to go back to sakura express” by this comment I was extremely shocked I asked for his boss name and he said: “that they don’t have to know his name or mine” I answered him that if this is the kind of lost, as he manages this device, that is why the manager should be ashamed and find a new job, I have worked in many restaurants and as a manager is absolutely right and a gift and the person I speak with is not even close to a manager but a worker. he is the exact reason why this location fails."

"UPDATE 28 October 2022 I?ve updated this review to say, the owner responded initially to me via email and stated how he would like to talk via phone vice email, which I felt was more personal and I appreciated that from him. He said he would call thenext day and he did! He stood by his word. We talked, he listened and was extremely apologetic and offered ways he would like torectify the issue. We both came to a mutual agreement and the outcome was very pleasant for us both. I will say, if you everencounter any issues (hopefully not), Mr. Steve is willing to listen and do what he can within reason to make things right or atthe very least offer his apology, which is what most customers want in the end?. to be heard and an apology! Thank you Steve,much appreciated! 10/23/22 (1star) Be mindful of the 18% gratuity they add to ALL checks of 1-9 people(per Antonio, a server,you can opt out) if you make a fuss as I did. My daughter and 3 friends patronize this location for her birthday. When I askedwhy is there an 18% gratuity when it?s usually a party of 6-8, I was told by Ayliah who said she was the manager that is now thepolicy. Then asked for someone who could further assist in this matter and she gave me the name Steve. She refused to give lastnames and directed me to look for it on their website. I have located Steve information (not on any of the websites) on LinkedInand will be reaching out directly. Thank asked for a corporate number and she again stated it was on the website (NOT). And whythe additional female worker standing behind the counter with Ayliah felt the need to address me when she was not the waitressnor management. She proceeded to interject in a hostile manner to which I felt was unnecessary. She was very aggressive andconfrontational which is poor customer service.
