"We have been coming to Pine Tavern for years. We had patio seating and the temp. was perfect with a mild breeze. We were a party of 6. The Rueben sandwich was very dry.....not much 1,000 Island dressing. One person in our party ordered ginger ale and when he asked for a refill, he was not informed that the ginger ale was not a free refill and charged them for a second drink. We all felt that the server should have explained that this is from the bar and not a free refill. Other than that, we had a very nice time together."

"A new favorite of mine for high quality sushi and Japanese cuisine. If you plan to dine in, recommend getting a reservation. A favorite dish from our meal was the wonton soup. And no, I 'm not a soup guy. But the broth was so rich in flavor and clearly scratch made. The soup was packed with greens and veggies, very hearty and well worth the space it took in my stomach, as the udon noodle dish was not nearly as worthy. There was a strong mustard flavor on the noodles and there were more veggies in the soup than in the veggie udon! Noodles were cooked properly and ate just fine but that 's all they were, just fine . The agadashi tofu was a second favorite. A tofu dish that was lightly fried, silky, served in a broth that was subtly sweet and bursting with earthy aroma. We also very much enjoyed the variety of maki rolls we tried. Crab rangoons were a proper representation of what you would want in the north shore. The pork gyoza were delicate and pan fried, portions were well worth adding it as a first appy."

"I have been to Tiki Bars around the world and I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem in downtown Napa. The decor is cute, the drinks were perfectly concocted and presented. "I have been missing the food and atmosphere in Waikiki lately, and this place truly brought me back to the relaxing ocean breeze, comfort food, and tropical vibes of Hawaii! I had a lovely time here with my family, and we all loved the food, drinks, and service! Shoutout to Danielle for being such a wonderful server. FOOD Chicken lettuce wraps: These were a bit messy to eat but very good! The lettuce was very fresh and was a great way to start our meal. Papaya salad: We LOVED this dish!! The balance between the greens, papaya, lychee, and macadamia nuts was so delightful and refreshing. Hawaiian Mochiko chicken: The chicken was so tender and well seasoned! The veggies on the side were also great, and my grandma really enjoyed the healthy option. DRINKS Mermaid's Kiss: This drink was refreshing and strong! It wasn't super sweet, which was perfect. Painkiller: This drink was also pretty strong, and I really enjoyed it! Would highly recommend ordering both of these drinks. SERVICE The service here is amazing, and what I was most impressed by is that they knew we would be doing family style rather than having individual entrees. They brought out extra plates for us, no questions asked. It made me feel that the staff here are culturally competent and mindful, and I really appreciated that! "My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and were seated straight away. As the Burmese restaurant is in the area, we really looked forward to this experience. While we were in no hurry the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they urged to have a meal order at the same time. We wait to order the food until the drinks have been brought to us. We ordered the Burmese beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (fish noodle soup). The sauces on the meat stews were good, but not spectacular! The stew was definitely not tender. If you like tough meat then these dishes are for you. In addition, the Moh Hin Ga lacked taste and, in the words of my colleagues, "I would not order it again". Also soft drinks and iced tea and refilled for free. Given the rush and subpar experience, won't be returning. Given their great Yelp reviews, it seems like there are plenty of customers out there who like it. Maybe we only visited them on a bad day or the normal cook wasn't around that day ..."

"The amount of little things wrong will make me sound like a Karen, but I promise I don’t normally give bad reviews, however I paid $30 just to have the igloo experience and really had hopes for a decent lunch date. Upon arrival they placed us in the igloo without a view even though the closer one to the water was available. Not the biggest issue however-Our igloo stunk of seafood mixed with a plastic smell the moment we walked in… it deff needs to be aired out in between guests. We were then forgotten for 20 mins after being seated and I had to go in and let the host know we hadn’t been seen yet. Our waiter seemed super annoyed when he finally came out, was in and out without really speaking to us. I get it, working in a restaurant is not always the easiest, however the place was pretty empty on the lunch hour. I felt like a burden to him, which doesn’t feel good when you’re paying to eat and extra for the igloo. Just felt underwhelming and I left feeling disappointed. I will note the front hostess was super sweet and kind and was very friendly and helpful, so I really don’t want my review to reflect the entire staff. Honestly, save your money- the igloo wasn’t worth the hype."

"I went in there right at 5PM on 10/13/21. Even though there wasn't enough ppl RIGHT AT 5pm (when they open) to fill an entire hibachi table, they quickly brought out our sides and started the show. We had the whole station to ourselves. Sam was an amazing chef. He entertained us with awesome skills and great conversation. He immediately seemed like a friend instead of a cook. Mr. Mateo was our server and was timely and polite with any of our requests. At the end of the meal, they all came out and wished me a happy birthday in American style then Japanese style. It was just an amazing experience, not just a dinner. We will definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, delicious, and large portioned freshly created meal."

"Back in our old neighborhood for a couple of days so we decided to dine at Tao's which used to be one of our favorite places to eat. Unfortunately it has been sold and the wait staff was abysmal. There was a big language barrier with our server and that was a bit scary as one of us has Celiac Disease and needs to be sure his food is gluten free. This was NEVER a problem in the past under the previous owners but we sort of white-knuckled it and thankfully there was no cross contamination. So kudos for that. The food was as we remembered it which is pretty delicious. If not for the service delays, confusion, and language barrier I'd probably add another star."

"I won’t be returning to this restaurant. The place was quite empty, so I’m not sure why the service was so poor. I ordered three items from the menu, but only two of them arrived. Before I even realized it, my table was cleared, and when I asked about the third item, they discovered it had never been placed in the order. I decided to leave at that point. After asking for the bill, I waited 15 minutes to receive it, and the last item was still missing. At least they didn’t charge me for it. Overall, the service was disappointing, and I left a tip that I really shouldn’t have. I won’t be coming back."

"Had a very yummy dinner at Elephant and the Dove. We started with the dip trio of queso, guacamole and salsa with chips. All three were great and the chips are served warm. Hubby ordered beef rojo enchiladas which were excellent, daughter had the california burrito with queso on top (crazy delish)and I had a burrito bowl with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were so tasty. The bowl was only OK. I would have preferred the ingredients stacked, rather then separated. But the real star on the table was the side of mexican corn. Wow, it was unbelievably good. We did finish up with an order of churros with chocolate sauceSuper yummy! Our server was friendly and attentive. We always have a good meal here. Highly recommend."
