We had a reservation and ended up having to wait 15-20 minutes for our table, and they comped us a round of drinks for the inconvenience. Thank you for taking care of us! "Beautiful Views. Horrible Food. Egregiously Priced. Stay Away. Angel Oak has the benefits of being perched on the edge of a ridge overlooking the ocean, and located on The Ritz Carlton Bacara property. As a result, they are able to charge extreme prices for the most basic of wines and the most pedestrian of foods. And, when I say pedestrian, I mean borderline laughable. My $25 Caesar salad was bluntly chopped romaine leaves with what tasted like Newman’s Caesar dressing. The $32 Duck Fat Fried Octopus was severely over-seasoned with some kind of pork rub (they call guajillo rub) and severely over-cooked to the point that it had the consistency of rubber. My $78 Double R Ranch USDA Prime Filet was the worst steak I have ever had at a restaurant. At fine steak houses I always order a petit filet done blue rare because it allows me to taste the quality of the meat. In this case, I mind as well have been eating Play-Doh because the steak was cold mush; with a sear. Based on the taste and consistency, this poor piece of meat was likely vacuum sealed, frozen, thawed, cooked (when I ordered it) and left under a heat lamp (until we were ready). The only reason I did not make a fuss is because my wife begged me not to. But, this restaurant should fire their chef immediately. Brutal."

"Food was disappointing. Nice view of the Bluff. Checked the menu on OpenTable: Lobster Tagliatelle was listed at $42. We were looking forward to order it. When we arrived at the restaurant, the menu said Tagliatelle $42, add Lobster $47. Lobster Tagliatelle $89!! We mentioned it to our server who said that several guests have complained about it and that the managers did not care. Outrageously overpriced. The food in general was not that good here; we did not finish it. Very disappointing after coming from Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch, where every dish and meal were excellent and we wanted more!"

"First time at RPM Italian. We been to the other two RPMs and Italian did not disappoint. From the service, food, atmosphere, and experience it was all great. We love how they spread out their meals and the menu. We started off with apps, then had twosmall pastas that we shared, then had an entree that we shared. "First time I have eaten here. My wife and I decided to try something new. We both ordered the special which was the prime rib. My wife ordered rare and I ordered medium- rare. Both came to the table tough as leather and well done. I also ordered the 14oz and maybe was 8oz at most. I honestly don't think I've had a worse steak. The bill was around $100.00. As an additional note the waiter said as we paid that it looked pretty well done and not right. So yes he served it anyway. I guess we learned something!"

"Last night's celebration Birthday was awesome at Zoe's. We arrived to a warm and enthusiastic hello's that felt inviting. Our table was waiting with a hand written Birthday card signed by the entire staff. Our server extraordinaire Andrew B. Offered great suggestions and his check back timing and service was perfect . He took the note on our conversation to double back to check certain ingredients without prompt. Now onto the food. Having worked in NYC for 23 years in my former life, I've dined at the best and Zoe's is exceptional. Our starters, Lobster cheesecake, Lobster pop sausage and fois gras amazing. The wagu beef meatloaf was moist, perfectly seared scallops with a hint of caviar risotto and melt in your mouth steak..amazing. The candied apple creme brulle we shared did not disappoint and the OMG Carrot cake is worth every review. Olive oil moisture to the soaked rum rasins to the slivered almonds. I am a die hard walnut in carrot cake girl and this cake has a new convert. This location will be in my rotation. Book an experience for yourself."

"Everything was amazing. The only issue we had was we were sat next to the fireplace outside and it was so warm we ended up playing musical chairs in our seats. Which was actually quite funny and gave us a good laugh. And honestly I wouldn’t have traded it because the fireplace was beautiful. The oysters were amazing, the tuna tartare was spot on, and the scallops were the best I’ve ever eaten. Go here and have yourself a blast. We did."

"For our 30th anniversary, it was a blessing to have come across a staff that really took the time to cater to me and my wife. Our reservation was a last minute decision, but by the way we were treated, you would have thought it was planned. We normally travel to the top Michelin Star restaurant in the world (just returned earlier this month from the no.1 rated in Spain, Malaga, and Portugal for a birthday celebration), but this year we decided to travel to CA, and stopped in at Ocean Prime while touring Beverly Hills. This turned out to be an excellent decision, as Andre, our Captain, was attentive, kind, caring and one who understood and embodied the mission and culture of the establishment. Andre and his little brother “Raul” (a running joke) were exceptional and made it special. Not to leave out the other staff, to include the hostesses who offered to take our photos upon arrival, and the valet attendant who was pleasant in just answering our questions, who also made it a memorable experience. Again, we are used to generosities such as these because we travel the world to eat at fine dining establishments; however, it was equivalent to our experiences at those establishments, and so it was refreshing to find it without it being planned. "Our server was very nice and professional, but service in general was very slow and stilted. Our reservation was at 11:30, and we were seated promptly. We ordered drinks first, most of which came out quickly except for one soft drink, though our server did let me know it was coming (but it was odd that it took a long time to get a ginger ale). We ordered our appetizers after a long wait to place that order, and it was an even longer wait to get those appetizers even though we were one of maybe 3-4 tables in the entire place (it was possibly 20+ minutes to get two crab cakes and calamari). We were only approached to order our main courses at 12:10, so over half an hour after we sat down. We probably could have just flagged someone down, but multiple staff walked by, glancing at us and noting we all were just sitting with menus closed so I thought eventually someone would just stop and take our orders. Food was very subpar--the parmesan encrusted caesar salad was 80% chicken presented as a chicken schnitzel with way too much very salty parmesan caked on and clearly not freshly made (cheese was the texture of having dried out after being left out and then reheated). Strange tart (not the right kind of tart) caesar salad and not enough of it."

"Our daughter and granddaughter gave us a gift card to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first dining experience. The menu has many selections, something for everyone. We began with the house salad, which was delicious. We shared the 10 oz filet with blue cheese topping and a twice baked potato. They were both perfect. Troy was a great server, professional and personable. Next time we’ll try the desserts."

"we asked if it is possible to divide the wedge, not a blue cheese or swash on one of them. no problem. both came with blue cheese and wobble. there was extra everything in small pods. When the server had stopped by my man, he had already eaten his 1/2. they brought a new one. steak should med plus, rarely came. I asked if they had a pfeffer grain sauce. server said yes, I am not sure what the sauce has brought. it was not a peppcorn, had a sweet taste. the food runner took him back when the server checked for me and the steak, he was now leather. the bill was almost $500 for 3 people, I was not able to see all the fees because the server took the bill before I could look at it. was curious if we were calculated for all additional items for the salat. we have enjoyed ocean prime downtown, it is amazing. our first time tries ocean prime in tech center. I'm sorry we're not back."

"Calamari appetizer was delicious with an Asian fusion twist. Very lightly breaded and sautéed to perfection. The Lobster Bisque soup was gourmet with big chunks of lobster. Yum! The Chilean Sea Bass was light and fresh. The Blackened Red Snapper was well seasoned and enjoyed the palenta base. The Lobster Tail was tasty with clarified butter and asparagus. Dessert was the perfect end to celebrating a birthday by sharing creme brulee with raspberries blueberries and peanut butter cup pie. Justin was an incredible server; he described every menu item, answered our questions and timed our courses perfectly. Thank you for a wonderful evening! We’ll definitely be back"

"Steven Libby Bollich had made reservations a week in advance. The service was great and the server(s) knowledgeable in all facets. The food was very well prepared and the portions satisfying. We had an issue (known to Jackson's by previous complaints as admitted by management) of a serving buffet/storage facility for glassware, beer, and utensils among other sorts of table preparation items. Our table was placed right next to all the clanging of noise as servers did their job. We complained twice and received apology etc. We spoke with management about the issue and made note of extra seating that was not near all the noise. We were not compensated or moved to a different table. All in all, we had a good time, as we are truly happy folks (most of the time)"

"Everything about the meal was great until the check came and I noticed that it included a recovery charge. While our server explained payment of the charge is optional when we questioned the charge,,my friend and I who split the check were put off by the stealthy way it was added- neither of us had seen any mention of the fee on the menu or elsewhere in the restaurant. We paid it and did not punish the server but, excellent as the meal was, I doubt Iâll ever go back because of the way the restaurant hid the charge."

"Ocean Prime exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere exuded elegance and the host greeted us promptly upon arrival. Despite being a little late for our reservation, we were seated within 30 minutes in front of the host (party of 2). Our server welcomed us shortly after we settled in, and our cocktails and appetizers arrived quickly after ordering. The menu had a great variety of options for us to choose from. I opted for the lobster while my date chose the teriyaki salmon. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts and Gouda tater tots, which were amazing. Overall, our experience at Ocean Prime was fantastic."

"We had an amazing meal, I can’t say enough about how good the food was. Upon our arrival I was skeptical as to what we were in for. We sat down and right away I noticed the table was dirty. There was a blackish brown smear in front of me and I got scared then I opened the menu and there were stains on the menu and I got a little more scared. After a great intro to the restaurant from the waiter, Matt, I was a little more at ease because he knew what he was doing and what he was talking about. I then asked my guests if they noticed the floor was a little sticky which they both said it wasn’t just me. We ordered way too much food for 3 people and Matt made sure that we all got a bite of each dish even though some only came with 2 bites. Every single dish that came out was perfect. Every bite was just as good if not better than the last. The start of this review should not deter you from trying this gem on 309. Order everything and I mean everything, From A5 wagyu to Uni every single thing we ate was amazing. We will be back as soon as we can afford to go. Four hundred and sixty six dollars is a lot of money to spend on dinner for 3 but with one hundred of that going to wine alone it was well worth it. I can’t wait to go back and see Matt to ask him ridiculous questions that some how he knew all the answers to. I have told a lot of people about our meal and some have been there for the hibachi, we were in the restaurant but everyone I talked to that had been there said the same thing that it is a hidden gem in the suburbs. Try Ooka, you will not be disappointed."
