"I lived in Wooster from the mid-1980s to the end of the 1990s and I completely understand why locals and those like me who loved it years ago do so. The pizza has changed over the years, perhaps because Joe is no longer there. I hadn't eaten the pizza in at least 4 to 5 years, but in November 2020, I bought a few half-baked pepperoni and double cheese pizzas. I finished my second week. I appreciate the convenience and speed of the take-and-bake option, but there were noticeable changes in the pizza. I always believed that the pepperoni added a unique taste to the pizza; however, the pepperoni on these pizzas was different compared to years ago, affecting the overall taste. The crust and sauce seemed the same, and maybe the provolone was slightly thicker, but the pepperoni made the biggest difference. The pizza is still good, but not as great as it used to be. I probably won't make the two-hour round trip just for the pizza, but I might pick up a cheese pizza and add my own pepperoni to see if it makes a difference. I suggest giving them a try (4 stars), but be prepared for a longer wait time to get the taste that you remember. As a wise man once said, one can always expect things to change."
