"I tried to take my family here for lunch because I was here several times by myself. I'm white and my family is multiracial. I never had a problem when I came here alone. Through his body language, his dirty appearance and his lack of even offering a menu while he helped cheerfully every other customer, the man behind my wife's counter gave a clear mood that she had experienced many times before as a black woman - that she was not welcome. We knew we had to find another restaurant for lunch. My 2 year old daughter was hungry, but we had to go while she cried and cried that she wanted lunch. This man was the first to hurt my two-year-old biracial daughter with his racism. Unfortunately, it won't be the last time, but that doesn't make it less shameful. I'll never come back, and I won't advise anyone with a conscience, either."
