"Overall, eating was not what we expected from a restaurant that should be rated so high. the disappointment is the least of the adjective to describe our experience in sel. at $200 per person (which included wein), this was a waste of good money. something about every dish on the cook four-course menu lacked taste, and the presentation of each dish was overwhelming. the only dish that inspired our taste buds was the little cup sorbet to clean the palate. everything else was unstoppable. the first cure, the sole of the beer, was served lukewarm and in a bowl with so heavy sawn sauce you could hardly make the oysters. the second cursor, the date boot scallops (or should I say scallop as it was a single scallop cut in very thin slices) was served in a very salty brown liquid stock. the third court was the cattle tour that was so hard that I simply cut around the edges and ate what I could. for the main course I had the so-called Mediterranean sea red wild striped bass, which was completely tasteless! in the did I asked if the fish was some kind of sea bass. for me it tasted more like agricultural trout. I complained to our server, who was really pretty nice. she insisted to replace my fish dish for something else, as it was obvious that I was not satisfied. that something else was a bowl of lukewarm, boiled filled pasta clog, they guessed it, heavier cream sauce served as the oyster dish earlier. to round off everything, we were served for dessert a storage-bought sugar cookie, which is covered in butter cream and frozen strawberries. we will not return to the same. it's not just worth the money, it's a waste of time."

"This New Year 's Eve party at the Old Mill restaurant( a place we love and it 's usually spectacular) was a severe disappointment. First of all when we arrived the doors were locked at 6:45pm! It took a couple of phone calls by the CEO 's relatives to get them to come and open the door-it was snowing out! Our reservation was for 7pm-the doors should not have been locked. The Hostess stand was completely disorganized-seems they have new people on the desk every time we go. I tried to check in at 6:50pm as we have been coming to the Old Mill for almost 40 years and we always are granted Table 14. The hostess(one of 5 or 6 on duty that evening) told me to come back at 7pm. Yet another hostess was already checking people in. So of course Table 14 was taken when they took us to our table. I had emailed the restaurant a month ago requesting to due a very simple substitute on the menu-no one emailed me back and when we went to order our food for the evening the waitress(Karen) say she asked the dining manager and they said No. If we had had our favourite waiter Peter he was have been able to do it. Anna is also a very good waitress and if I want a simple sub like french fries instead of mash potatoes, she does it. We have not had Karen before-I think she was new. She still was lovely and very pleasant. She was having an off night as she tripped over our wine bucket and splashed some wine on the lady at the table behind us. She was very kind and gave me a very large replacement glass of my wine. Needless to say we will not be doing New Year 's Eve again at the Old Mill. For $670.00 a couple before alchohol, I expect almost perfection. We love the Xmas Buffet, The Thanksgiving Buffet and the ala carte menu that they now have is fantastic. When we go for the Dance Events we will order off the Ala carte menu. The band, Jay and Groove Marmalade were fantastic as usual!"
