"tonight 10/13/21 with my family stopped. the food was good, but the service was bad. I am vegan gluten-free and wanted blase tee, but they said their regular boba tee aromen are not vegan. they said they could make a green tee with lychee jelly, but then they brought me a green tee with lychee sirup from the jelly, but no jelly. they claimed that the gel was not gluten-free, but thought it would be appropriate to pour the syrup from the gluten that contains jelly into my drink?! my man ordered the Ma-Po soup that didn't come out when all the others came out. At some point, a waitress noticed that my poor man did not eat and asked what he ordered. all the others ended their engaged when the suppe of my man came. at the end our waitress asked if the manager had ever come and was shocked when we said no. later she came back with the bill, still no manager, and the bill had no adjustments that we thought it could, since she said the manager should talk to us. we paid and let us be confused and disappointed by the service, but at least that eating is delicious!"

I called china gourmet immediately after my eating at my place to tell them that they come back and pick up the food and give me my money back, he said repeatedly that he had never had a complain about eating and argued and screamed that we make food, we bring food, they pay fo eat if they don't like eating them yet. if they can't make their food better, they at least improve their customer service. tankstelle eating would have been more attractive, this place really deserves zero stars."

"in short, they have fed my family to dinner after they had confirmed the delivery and left us around 19 o'clock without eating. they wanted a delivery to dc and I was excited to try. before shabbat my wife wrote to them an order as he was asked by her flyer. they received a text back confirmed and then motzei shabbat a text with the pickup points (see photos.) they arrived 20 minutes late at the pickup point. when they arrived, they had no organized way to determine who is eating, who is. They had card numbers, but not everyone had one. Finally, 3-4 different men had not commanded their. they then asked if we got one call, none of us had said sorry, we had so many commanded only those we called this was never indicated in one of their show. they shouldn't have confirmed whether it was confirmed and if they cancelled orders, they would have had the ability to inform the people earlier than 30 minutes after picking up. No one should use them for delivery until they have a modern order system like toast, so they can't just say, oups that I have never given a star note, but I would give them zero stars if it were possible."

"I ordered from DoorDash for my daughter's birthday on August 28, 2024, spending $92 including tip. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. I woke up with an upset stomach this morning. I chose this restaurant because of its high ratings, but the shrimp fried rice was hard, and the piece of shrimp I tried had a spoiled, sour taste. The lo mein was decent; we ordered two since my daughter loves it, but my son didn't eat his, and my mom only had a small portion. My sister said her lemon pepper wings were satisfactory when she got home. My other son had the sesame chicken with white rice, and he described it as greasy. The fries were the only part of the meal that were somewhat acceptable. With seven kids, I dislike wasting money or food, but I can’t recommend this place. I dislike leaving negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience. I've had good Chinese food before, and this wasn't it. Perhaps I just caught them on a bad day, but sadly, we ended up wasting most of the food."

"I’ve always been picky about downtown cafes, but recently, this one has really improved. I think they have new management or owners, and it shows. The food was fantastic—delicious, generous portions, and a great variety that really aligns with the brand. The service was excellent as well. The friendly servers and bartenders are the highlight, having taken over from the previous management. I loved the new brunch menu, though my only criticism is that the boozy brunch option felt a bit overpriced for what it offered. Other than that, I have no complaints and will definitely be returning!"

"This is a small, tucked-away spot for New York-style Chinese takeout. The food is flavorful, generous in portion, and served hot and fresh. However, be prepared for a wait. During my visit, the line extended out the door, and I had to wait 10 minutes before placing my order. I tried the Mongolian Beef and Spicy Honey Wings with Pork Fried Rice. It took about 40 minutes for my meal to be ready. I’m giving a five-star review for the fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious food. They could definitely work on reducing the wait time. It seems to be a family-run business with just two employees working that night, which likely contributed to the delay. Despite the long wait, I can say the food was absolutely worth it."

"Our favorite local Chinese!. We have been patrons of Hot Wok for a couple of years now and find their food to be well worth the price, crisp and fresh, and ample in portion size! A couple of times a while back we ordered with employees who really didn 't understand English, poor dears, and ended up with incorrect orders. But that was a long time ago, and since then we haven 't had a problem with communication, even with some of our picky modifications in ingredients and spice levels within the dishes. Now...I am a Yankee by origin and back home almost EVERY Chinese restaurant delivered...so I guess I was spoiled. Sometimes the only thing to cure a Sunday hangover is some fried rice and a nice spicy veggie dish...but the half mile drive to the place is just too much to bare (especially in these LA summers). If Hot Wok would offer delivery, my lazy butt would probably order twice as much...just sayin '."

"I was looking for a quick lunch and naturally thought of Chinese food, so I decided to try this place near my office. Unfortunately, I likely won't return. I ordered steamed dumplings, shrimp fried rice, and chicken wings. The shrimp fried rice was disappointing and lacked flavor, which is surprising for a Chinese restaurant. Even soy sauce couldn’t salvage it. The shrimp was overcooked, and the chicken wings were bland—almost like they were pulled straight from a package and dumped into the fryer. The steamed dumplings, filled with beef, were equally unappetizing. The dipping sauce didn’t improve them at all; I ended up pulling out the meatball and just eating the dumpling skin. They definitely need a better cook."

"I just stopped for lunch, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look great on the outside. In fact, it's often hard to tell they're open. You enter through what looks like a side door. Once inside, it's great. Things are decorated well. Right now they've got Christmas decorations up. I had the house special Two Delights, chicken and shrimp with a delicate white sauce. The vegetables were obviously fresh nothing from a can or the freezer. The lunch specials average $7 8. You get rice and your choice of egg rolls or cheese wontons. Great service. It was quiet inside, probably because people don't even realize this place is here. It's well worth checking out."
