"The cafe's interior is charming, and the open kitchen behind the counter has a cozy, homey feel, reminiscent of a grandmother's kitchen. The young staff were helpful and friendly, but we did feel a bit out of place. They were chatting and laughing amongst themselves, which made it feel like we had interrupted a private gathering. I’m not sure, but we didn’t feel particularly welcomed. Our iced coffees were good, and they offered soy milk, which was nice, but I wish they had a more diverse coffee selection. This wasn’t a deal-breaker since they don’t market themselves mainly as a coffee shop.
Additionally, I think their signage could be improved for clarity. The menu board is located on the right side of the counter, and it’s tricky to get a good look at everything quickly, especially with customers behind us waiting to order. We also weren’t clear on whether we should leave our dirty plates on the table or return them to the counter since it didn’t feel like a traditional sit-down service.
Despite these minor issues, none of them would deter me from coming back, and I would definitely visit again on my next trip to Harrisonburg."
