"I used to live in the VA-Highlands area and had good memories of Atkins Park and wanted to return for a meal. First off, the food was very good, it was just the matter of getting the food that was an issue. When 25 minute passed after ordering and everyone who arrived after us was eating, we had to flag down a waiter to check on our meal. They seemed to be very limited on waitstaff. Later, when ordering dessert to go, it took another 30 minutes to get that as well. A very gracious manager comped us some coupons for the inconvenience. But the real insult was later that evening when we went to eat dessert and found raw apple pie in the go-box. Yes, uncooked dough and apples. Really?! Won’t be coming back."
