"As newcomers to Waterbury, we've been on the lookout for ethnic restaurants. We found this little corner Dominican restaurant called El Encanto near Route 8 in Waterbury. It's 3 blocks up the road from a better known Dominican restaurant, La Cazuela. We liked El Encanto more for several reasons. First, it's in a quiet residential area, unlike the noisy intersection where La Cazuela is, located next to several bars. Second, the price is better than La Cazuela for the same type and quality of food. Third, the food tastes better. Our favorites are the beans- -rice, the beef stew, roasted chicken, and the beef/chicken patties."
