"Now, let’s get into the food. We started with the crabby fries as an appetizer. They could have used more color and needed to be cooked a bit longer, as the queso on the bottom of the pan was pretty thin and lacked flavor. Even McDonald's manages to season their fries, just saying. My daughter ordered the shrimp scampi, and I have to say, the sauce was quite watery—it just wasn't flavorful at all. I went for the fried oyster platter along with a cucumber and tomato salad. I didn’t think to ask how they prepared the oysters or if they could fry them extra crispy, which, in hindsight, I should have. They must have used some sort of wet batter because there was barely any crispiness left after a short time. The oysters themselves didn’t have much flavor, either. I suggest trying a dry seasoned flour and cornmeal dredge to maintain that desired crispiness. Also, not everyone likes Tabasco as a sauce option—just a thought. When I fry oysters at home, I always check for any shell pieces that might still be attached, so I was thankful I have strong teeth! Now about that salad: it consisted of oversized slices of cucumber, not what you want on your plate—they looked like avocado slices instead of fresh cucumbers. The diced tomatoes on top (which I suspect were canned) didn’t do much to improve the dish either. I found myself using the least appealing lemon wedge on my plate to try and salvage the taste of this pickled creation. I recommend refining the cucumber slices, using a bigger serving dish, and skipping the canned tomatoes altogether. Better yet, provide a knife for those who order the salad! In conclusion, my experience at Sliders wasn’t great. I wish future diners the best of luck."
