"Absolutely shocked there aren’t lines out the door for this place. Had some of the best South Asian food I’ve ever had here. Went looking for Thali which is a variety of dishes served on a single platter. To start, the service was fantastic, every one from host to the servers were incredibly helpful and friendly. Told the server we wanted Thali which wasn’t on the menu and he recommended a larger version of it, the dinner for two but made it for three since there were three of us. As you can see it included a lot of food, three meat dishes, two vegetable dishes, rice, naan, daal, plus soup and samosas to start. Total only came out to around $120 including tip. Literally not one bad dish. Loved the chicken vindaloo and the tandoori was the best I’ve ever had. But the korma was also rich and complex and the daal was so flavorful and I typically don’t care for daal. All in all an incredible meal with great service at very fair prices. Will def be back."

"This was my second time dining here with my friend. Upon a bad first experience (our food was incredibly salty and the customer service was poor), we decided to try them out a second time, as inexpensive Indian restaurants are few and far between. Immediately after we sat down, we noticed a difference between how the servers treated my friend and me. I am African American and my friend is white-passing. They continuously placed all of the dishes on her side of the table. I can’t even comment on their customer service, as it was practically non-existent. After my friend paid the bill, we left and went our separate ways. I was almost two blocks away from the restaurant and in another establishment, when I saw a man waving at me through the window. It was an employee from the restaurant. He accused me of not paying, however, as I mentioned, I wasn’t even the one who had paid for our lunch. Furthermore, my friend was given a receipt after they presumably charged her card. I told him that my friend had already left, however, he made it clear to me that he was not going to leave. I came back to the restaurant and paid for my meal. My friend checked her bank account and the server did not charge her card, however, to track me down and insinuate that I had intentionally left without paying, is absolutely unacceptable. The bill was $38 in total. Please spare yourselves the trouble and dine somewhere else. I recommend New Dehli Palace, across the street."

"I was disappointed. You know when you walk in a place and you ask yourself, am I sure I want to be here? That 's the exact feeling I had. From a flow perspective there was no host/hostess check in. The restaurant is a cliche decorated restaurant with little to no flair. The unfriendly staff did not do a proper greeting nor explain the menu or ask if I had any questions. The food was mediocre. I ordered the shrimp pakoras; instead I got Costco grade air fried coconut shrimp. NOT THE SAME! The naan had no butter to delight the tastebuds and the rice seemed day old. The chicken curry did have flavor and the meat wasn 't D grade, so I was happy about this. The restaurant is located in a prime location of downtown Burbank with lots of foot traffic and plethora of restaurants to choose from. I would skip. It seems they aren 't interested in creating an entire experience for patrons. This is a pity because Indian food is so exotic full of flavor."

"Tonight, six of us went to dinner at this restaurant and found that there were not many other customers. The food was incredibly delicious, but unfortunately, the service was quite slow. We had to get up multiple times to ask for water refills. Our biggest complaint was that we had a voucher that sparked our initial interest in trying out this restaurant. However, before we could use it, they charged a total of $140 to our credit card. When we asked the staff to apply the voucher to our bill, they claimed they did not know how to do so."

"Solid Indian food! Surprisingly, the veg dishes here were the best far surpassed the quality and taste of the non-veg ones. We ordered the vegetarian dinner for two non-vegetarian dinner for two — both incredible deals. The tandoori mix plate was just ok — it was drier than I wanted, wouldn’t get again. "I arrive at the India Clay Pit as a delivery driver. I was applaud at the treatment I received from the women at the counter when I asked where the restroom was. She said she was sorry and pointed to a sign that said no public restroom unless you’re a customer. I politely told her I was picking up for a customer then she said no delivery men either. Clearly I am a women and the lack of compassion she had for me was horrible. As a delivery driver I patron MANY establishments I pick up from this could have been one of them. I will be declining any pick ups at this location and I will never dine in.I hope that my race was not sb added issue as well."

"We arrived an hour early as our kid was pretty hungry. Nevertheless, the table was ready for us. The restaurant is understaffed yet their warm personality made this up as we didn't have to wait that long. The dishes were excellent as we could sense that they were authentic as we are pretty foodie junkies. The kid enjoyed some of the dishes as it was his first time trying even though they were spicy for his taste. The mango lassi made this up for his raging tongue though. He mentioned that the lassi was one of the best he ever had as he could taste the real mango inside. We definitely will come back here if we ever visit HMB sometimes to try out the other Nepalese dishes. Oh, the vegetarian momos were great as well. Very similar to the ones I had in Tibet almost 20 years ago!"

"Table for 3 for lunch I was meeting a couple of friends for lunch. As I approached, there was plenty of shared parking. ViceRoy was located in an open area with many other shops and restaurants. One friend and I entered together, were greeted and seated immediately with no reservation. We were waiting for the 3rd member of our party to join, but we got started on the buffet. As we were up and about, the server brought over our water glasses. It was lunch time, but the place was almost empty. Looking around the restaurant, I noticed it was spotless and designed with a minimalistic style. I surveyed the buffet and noticed many of the usual favorites; Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Biryani. Our other friend arrived shortly after and jumped right in line for the buffet. I went back for 2+ full entree plates and 1 dessert plate. We discussed the food and commented that it was OK. Nothing jumped out at me that was super tasty or made me do the happy food dance. Also, by the time I got the food back to the table, it was not super hot. I don’t know if it was because I was talking while eating, but it did not seem super hot. The team of servers were very attentive, but not very friendly. They efficiently and quickly came to clean up old buffet plates and bring out the Naan, but there were not a lot of smiles tossed around. Overall, a good experience with GOOD, not Great Indian cuisine with a super clean dinner room and nice ambiance."

The chicken was overcooked or something, and I bit something that was like grains of sand when you eat clams, but it was greenish yellow, that stopped me from eating more. It was one of the best Indian all-you-can-eat buffets I've experienced. The price was around $10-$12 per person, which I found to be very reasonable. I was so impressed that I recommended it to my sister and her family. They offer a $2 off coupon for the champagne brunch on their website, which Chinese parents will appreciate. The restaurant also has its own underground parking garage, making it convenient to visit."
