"So I'm not from this side of the city, but we were just made with our photo shoot for our wedding and we were starving. So we stopped in this restaurant and we both had the tacos de birria which were amazing!!! "Fantastic restaurant! The food was delicious, and the service was quick. While I was on the terrace, the staff was very attentive and made sure to take care of me, rather than neglecting me like some places do. They even allow dogs on the terrace and provided water for my furry friend. I’ll definitely be returning!"

"We decided to check out the restaurant under its new management, but unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. The music was excessively loud, making it hard to think straight. The service was slow, and the takeout menus were so small that you’d need a magnifying glass to read them when dining in. Additionally, the menu items didn’t align with what was posted on their social media, and there were discrepancies between what we ordered and what we received, including missing items. To top it all off, the food lacked any flavor at all. As for vegetarian options, there were none available on the menu."

"Its located in the basement of the building so the ceiling is very low. Smells a bit funky. The smell hit me as soon as I stepped in. There were many small flys (gnats) flying above our food. A bug landed into the rice and made itself at home on the plate. We immediately left after this. Food was disgusting I only ate the chorizo quesadilla that was served with no cheese (never had a quesadilla with no cheese in it). And it was the size of a taco. But it was the only thing that looked edible on my plate. The beans looked unappetizing. My girlfriend said the beans tasted sour to her. The men’s bathroom looked like a gas station rest stop. Random pipes were uncovered in the corner of the bathroom. I’ve been to many Mexican restaurants this is by far the worst. Very confused by some of the positive ratings. I do feel like this establishment needs to be inspected by the health department."

"What can I say? This place is everything. Customer service is everything. When I think about Bartlett, I think about this great place. For a restaurant that has no bar.... it works. This is the real definition of a family restaurant. Whether you want to bring your family, friends or colleagues... this is the place. I left my iPad and other personal items at this point. The next day they called back and they threw it away and waited for me when I returned the next day and would not take some kind of tip for it. I highly recommend El Idolo!"

"Having an apartment in this neighborhood my husband walked past this place every day so we decided to have dinner here even though I had come by here a few weeks ago asking if they had Sopas and besides telling me she didn 't really speak English the answer was just No!the menu was extremely limited and really has Nothing for Vegan 's or vegetarian 's. I believe there is one item a burrito with spicy vegetables. It 's a Mexican restaurant yet has No Mexican cheese for their items on their menu. Also No Mexican Coca-Cola in the bottle. They have Corona Beer but unfortunately there 's No price on the menu for Corona so we didn 't know the price until we got the bill. $12 for 2. My husband ordered a steak burrito I ordered a quesadilla they have No black beans so I had to get pinto beans they have No Vegetarian rice so I got guacamole and whatever cheese they use I believe cheddar. They have No Lime for the beer and the girl said the owner said limes are too expensive so they only gave me lemon for my beer. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and I certainly can understand why no one comes here. Our food arrives she sets it down walks away and what do you think after her and I have been talking about Vegetarian-Vegan-Food what do we have but Chicken in my quesadilla! Her answer and excuse was oh well I wrote just cheese quesadilla but the kitchen didn 't see it. We are the only people in the restaurant there were No other orders. As some favor she says oh you can keep it I 'll go and make you another dish. Ummm... clearly she wasn 't listening to what I was saying because why would I keep a chicken quesadilla being a vegetarian?? I gave her the whole plate back and told her I wanted a check. My husband got his burrito to go, we drank our two beers and the bill was $32. My husband also gave her a five dollar tip I 'm not sure for what her bad attitude or all the mistakes?? They are a joke! Zero stars for the service! zero stars for the food! one star for the atmosphere"

"One of my favorite Mexican restaurants! The food has always been delicious and the staff always friendly and customer focused. We usually come for lunch, and they offer a very reasonably priced selection of lunch entrees, plus daily lunch special. Also, it seems to be a family business and for this and other reasons that will be obvious, I 'd call it authentic. "I've been to this restaurant twice now, mainly to enjoy their amazing margaritas, which are truly top-notch! During my latest visit, I decided to try the Camarones a la Diabla since I was in the mood for something spicy, along with some Mexican nachos. When I called to ask if I could substitute beef for extra beans, the staff was super helpful and even suggested adding rice, which I thought was a nice touch! The team was very friendly when I picked up my food, and it was both satisfying and delicious. I will definitely be back!"

"I had a great experience at this restaurant before, so my boyfriend and I decided to stop by the other night to place a to-go order. The wait was minimal, which was nice. However, once we got home and started eating, we were let down. Everything was incredibly dry and overcooked, almost as if it had been prepared earlier in the day and just reheated. We ordered fajitas that included chicken, steak, shrimp, and chorizo. The shrimp was so overcooked that we struggled to remove the tails. Additionally, my beans and rice were cold. Given the price of each plate, it was quite disappointing. The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately, I felt like I wasted $40 that night."

"I've visited this restaurant many times and usually have a great experience, but today was different. The service was good — friendly and prompt. However, the chips were neither warm nor crispy; they were stale and flavorless. To make matters worse, we found a hair in our salsa, which completely ruined our appetite for it. My sister and father's entrees were satisfactory, but I was let down by my tacos. The shells were stale and tasteless, and the filling was just okay. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back here. "My granddaughter always says that everybody deserves a second chance, so we decided to give Taco Tuesday another try. Unfortunately, it was a disaster. The staff was friendly, but the food was not up to par. We ordered the Taco Tuesday special and Chili Relleno. The Relleno was mediocre compared to other places, but the tacos were just terrible. The chicken was dry and tasteless, and the crispy tacos were thick and hard. I had to peel off most of the shell just to eat them. Even after pouring tons of salsa on the chicken, it still lacked flavor. The chips with salsa were also thick and tasteless, likely due to the oil used. Although we have had some good dishes at this restaurant in the past, it’s hit or miss. The quality has declined in recent years, and it is disappointing. The staff is friendly, but the cooks need to improve."
