"We visited The Fish Market because of its reputation for excellent cuisine. We were dining early (5:30) and didn't have a reservation, which was not a problem. My spouse ordered the blackened Carfish with a local craft beer. I ordered Arctic Char with green tea and lemon. My spouse enjoyed his plate immensely. Mine on the other hand was disappointing. The server noticed I hadn't eaten much and enquired as to the reason. I explained I was disappointed in the plate, which didn't seem to work well; the fish was dry and it just didn't work with the Mango salsa and wheatberry salad. There were a couple broccoli floets that were almost cold when the plate arrived, as well as overcooked. She thanked me for my candour and offered to get me another entree, which I declined with thanks. A couple minutes later, the restaurant manager (Cheryl) arrived at our table. She was very understanding and concurred that the Char appeared dry. She then advised us that we would not be charged for my meal. We were not expecting that! The cordial manner with which Cheryl handled the issue definitely restored our faith in restaurant customer service. We will undoubtedly return to The Fish Market on our next trip to Ottawa!"
