"Hung Fong, one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in San Antonio, deserves a 3-star rating. While it used to be a popular destination for both locals and tourists in the past, it seems to have lost its charm over the years. During a recent visit with friends, we found the restaurant to be outdated and not well-maintained. The food lacked flavor and freshness, with dishes like Mongolian Beef and Hot and Sour soup falling short of expectations. The shrimp dish we ordered was overpowered by a spicy sauce that came in a bland plastic container. The lackluster dining experience, combined with a nearly empty restaurant, left us feeling disappointed. Despite serving generous portions, we ultimately decided not to take our leftovers home. It's unfortunate to see a once-beloved establishment like Hung Fong decline in quality and lose its appeal."
