"Terrible in almost every aspect. Typically, I have no issues with service at Chinese restaurants; my standard expectation is simply prompt ordering and receiving the bill, with no assumptions about the staff's attitude or warmth. However, there was only one waiter on duty for the entire dining room, and he appeared overwhelmed, hastily placing plates down and even bumping into guests and tables as he rushed to complete orders. I waited at the front door for over 10 minutes without being acknowledged before finally being seated. The restaurant is so understaffed that there was no time for recommendations—just scan a QR code to place your order.
I heard this place was quite authentic, so I decided to order the sweet and sour mandarin fish to see how well they could prepare it. Unfortunately, my order was overlooked, resulting in a wait of over 45 minutes. It pains me to criticize the food, especially knowing how challenging this dish can be to make, and I must admit the chef demonstrated good knife skills and the sweet and sour sauce was well-executed. However, I cannot overlook the fact that they used tilapia—the cheapest fish option—for this $40 dish. To make matters worse, the fish did not taste fresh! It seemed as if my order was forgotten because some pieces of the fried fish had lost their crispiness by the time I received it. My high expectations were utterly shattered. I understand it can be difficult to source quality live fish and turn a profit in the U.S.
The final straw was when I ordered a portion of soy sauce duck to take home as an appetizer. When I opened it the next day, I discovered that the portions were tiny and the duck had already spoiled. I can’t believe that people consider this restaurant to be good. As someone from Shanghai, I feel ashamed that a place with such a poor business attitude is allowed to operate."
