"My wife and I visited the District restaurant a couple of times before the pandemic and now a couple of times during. It’s a great restaurant! To accommodate the current pandemic rules, they expanded the outdoor seating. In addition to its original sidewalk seating, there’s also seating now in the entire street in front of the restaurant now closed to traffic. Other restaurants have done the same and the entire block has a festive atmosphere. The food and service is exceptional. Our server, Kayla, attended us on our last two visits. She has an engaging personality, is very knowledgeable of the restaurant’s offerings, and very attentive. She suggested we start with the ORGANIC GREENS avocado, shaved radish cucumber, spiced sunflower seeds, and champagne-citrus vinaigrette. It’s a really delicious salad, and the watermelon radish sliced very thinly is a wonderful addition. Her other suggestion was the fried chicken sliders with pickled Fresno chili cole slaw and spiced honey rémoulade. Fantastic!! There are two sliders larger than the typical slider buns) with fat real chicken meat extra juicy on the inside and crispy coated outside tasting like real fried chicken. I think they’re done sous vide but I didn’t confirm it. The slaw, chili’s, and rémoulade complement the chicken with just the right hint of spice from the chilis. Wow! On the first trip my wife and I each had a full order but we shared one order the second time as they are quite filling; although I would have eaten a second one if it was on my plate! I tried the oysters on the second visit since I’d get only one only one slider) which came with a mignonette sauce. Also delish. I washed it all down with a Turley Zinfandel. I highly recommend this restaurant. Btw, all the servers which we encountered here were really good. Reservations are recommended. Open table is available."

"--- So, let’s break it down: **The Good:** 1. The wait staff is excellent—attentive and friendly without being intrusive. 2. I really love the décor: the brick walls, beautiful paintings, velvet furniture, and chandeliers create a charming atmosphere. 3. The freshly baked bread with whipped butter is absolutely delightful; I could indulge in it all day. 4. Whenever I've made a reservation, regardless of how busy it is, I've always been seated at my reserved time. 5. The restaurant is completely nut-free, which is a relief for anyone with nut allergies. 6. I appreciate the menu option that allows you to choose multiple sauces for your pasta. It’s a fun way to try new flavors or combine complementary ones. **The Average:** 1. The tomato-based pasta sauces tasted a bit tinny, indicating they’re not homemade or simmered long enough, which is disappointing. 2. The salad is just a pre-packaged mix with croutons. I expect at least tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions in a legitimate salad (though the dressing is good). 3. The Caesar salad is $2 more, but it's essentially the same cheap mix with Caesar dressing. It doesn't make much sense. **The Bad:** 1. The restrooms (one for men and one for women) only have one toilet each, which is inadequate for such a busy restaurant. They were quite dirty and lacked toilet paper. This raises a red flag for me; the staff should ensure that the restrooms are clean and well-stocked. If the bathrooms are in such condition, it makes me worry about the cleanliness of the kitchen. I went to Trader Joe's afterward, and their restrooms were pristine—it's surprising that a grocery store would have cleaner facilities than a restaurant. 2. On busy nights, my food has often arrived before I've even finished half my salad (not a major issue), but it has consistently been lukewarm at best (definitely a significant concern). This suggests that my food was not warmed properly because the kitchen was in a hurry, and for the price of the dishes here, those kinds of mistakes shouldn’t happen repeatedly. Overall, after giving this place multiple chances, I’ve decided not to come back. --- Feel free to let me know if you need any adjustments!"

"We were a little crammed at our table for two, but the chairs were comfortable. The venue was extremely busy with lots of families eating. Our waitress was attentive and accommodating, but I didn't feel the passion that I feel from other service people. The hot bread had a tough other shell but was hot and soft on the inside, and the butter had a nice and light garlic touch to it. We got the cheesy bread appetizer, which is so worth it for the price. It can easily feed four people, and the bread is soft and spongey. My wife got the blackberry long Island ice tea which she really enjoyed and my Shirley temple was above average. The minestrone soup had many different flavors which clashed at times, depending on what was on the spoon for any given bite. Also would have loved if they had ditalini in there or some other small pasta. The broth was strong, almost like a beefy flavor. In my opinion, too many beans but that may have just been for my personal serving. The entrees were good but not great for the price. My chicken Alfredo had small, cubed, pieces of chicken that were rather dry. I wish they served it either whole, or in slices and not tiny cubes. The Alfredo sauce was good but there wasn't too much of it. But the pasta was cooked perfectly. My wife got the classic spaghetti with mizethra and brown butter. Once again, pasta cooked perfectly and the taste was impressive for such a simple dish. For dessert I got spumoni and it was the first time I've had it ever. It was creamy, soft, and light. Had a touch of chocolate taste with sherbet.. So delicious! If you like Italian food you have to give this place a try for sure."
