"The end of an era for my family and friends. For about 20 years, my family and closest friends have gone to Ichiban for New Year's Eve. We look forward to it every year. I make sure to reserve our full table every November when they open reservations for NYE. There's usually between 9 and 12 of us at dinner. Whatever the table will hold. This year, we showed up to find, our reservation was not in their book. Fortunately, I had record of my call on my phone. Regardless, they accommodated us, and within 30 min, we were seated. Our experience was anything but ordinary this time. Our chef threw rice balls at each one of us to catch with an open mouth. It was odd and extremely messy. Most of us did not catch the rice so it ended up in our hair or on our shirts and all over the floor. Next dinner. Most of the us ordered chicken teriyaki or steak, that was upgraded to filet mignon. Some ordered sirloin. The chef cut up the steak, then proceeded to mix the meats up. Which, for those who upgraded their steak choice didn't seem fair. When he was called out on that, he denied doing so. Yet, several people noticed the same thing. One of our guests, ordered her filet mignon well done. The chef seemed to badger her about her choice. After it was called out about the switch of meat, by said person, it seemed she received the rarest of the meat. None of the chicken teriyaki's were made with teriyaki sauce. Although the meal itself was tasty, it wasn't a pleasant experience. The manager was called to our table. Our bills were mixed up. Everything was off. It did not seem to be the same restaurant we've come to love in the past. Besides our dinner, the sink water in the ladies room was ice cold. I ran it awhile and it never warmed. The toilet didn't flush. There were no paper towels. It makes me sad that a place we all have looked forward to coming to year after year, has declined as much as it has. Looks like we'll be starting a new family tradition."

"I SUGGEST YOU NEVER EVER EAT HERE!!! 5424 Magnolia Ave Saint Louis, MO 63139 I CAN 'T believe what I experienced July 21, 2021 I mean I really can 't. I go out to eat with my family to this location expecting to get some good pasta food and end up leaving still hungry and robbed. The ONLY reason we came here was because the location down the street was packed and had a 45 minute wait. Seeing as if we where very hungry we walked to this empty disrespectful restaurant to try and eat. We came in to the building, was greeted but never got the name of the waitress. She sat us across from the bar in this little room where we started looking at the menu. Placed a order for appetizers to where I informed the waitress that I would need a to-go order for when we leave. After the appetizers where brought out we all noticed the portions. $4.00 for six pieces literally six small slices of bread with a half of a half of a piece of cheese on top was called garlic cheese bread. Again starving we just ate it... finally was able to place our dinner order. I ordered some dish that was supposed to have mushrooms in it and it came with a salad however when I received my plate there were only two small very small pieces of mushrooms. First let 's talk about the salad.... Not only did it look exactly like it came right out of a bag it was discolored. I upgraded my regular salad for the Caprese which by the was was supposed to lessen my main dish to 11.00 and up charged for the Caprese. Fine however The Caprese that was served did not look like what was discribed being that it said sliced tomatoes not cut in half baby tomatoes. The first two words in the description of the pasta dish stated Fresh mushrooms so I took that as there were going to be a ton of mushrooms in this dish so I was excited. To my dismay I was told by the owner that the mushrooms are just a accent to the dish. Had I known that I would have never gotten that dish. I would have chosen something else with mushrooms as I don 't eat meat. I ask the waitress if it would be possible to get some more mushrooms and she told me that she could take my plate back to the back and fix it . Once again me still hungry simply requested to just have them brought out as there was no need to take my food when I only requested to have the mushrooms in my dish. With an attitude she went back to the kitchen and came out with a bowl of mushrooms covered in this cream sauce. I couldn 't eat the entire meal because it was just a awful first time experience that I asked for a to-go box and canceled putting in my to-go order... We were told that the to-go order was ALREADY placed when we ordered our dinner... Me shocked and confused as to why my to-go ordered was already cooked before I was even done eating is beyond words when I definitely asked for it to be completed when we where ready to go so it would be hot by the time I got home. We were told it was already on the bill and had to get it taken off. The waitress goes to get the owner which by the way was very argumentative about what we had experienced. Stating that she fixed the mushroom issue and didn 't see how we had any other problems with the dinner. She didn 't want to hear what we had to say about how the waitress got in her feelings when I would not allow her to take my food and I asked for mushrooms to be in my food. Stated she was going to remove by brothers meal due to it being warm not hot and give us the to-go meal along with remaking my nieces spaghetti because the waitress thrown the to-go box in her food when she went to the restroom. Well unfortunately the owner LIED and still charged me for the to-go order. I took a picture of the records they gave us to pay and before we had a chance to add it up both the waitress and the owner were rushing us to pay. It wasn 't until we left we noticed she lied and basically stole from us. In my eyes that 's how I feel. I feel like this restaurant this so called business took advantage of us by not"
