"I recently visited Firehouse Subs for the first time, and I have to say, I was a bit underwhelmed. However, I plan to give it another shot since I still have $13 left on my gift card and I’m open to trying a different item next time. The staff was friendly and gave me a nice overview of the menu when I mentioned it was my first visit. The restaurant itself was clean, the staff was pleasant, and the bathroom was spotless.
That said, the sub I ordered just didn’t hit the mark. There was something about it that felt off, like a jarring note in a good song; despite the overall quality, I couldn’t shake that one bad note from my mind. I plan to revisit, likely at the Curtis Park location in Sacramento, before forming a final opinion.
I should also note that I chose this sandwich shop over a couple of tempting burger places because I was looking to eat something fresh and lower in calories. To my surprise, though, every sandwich was over 1,000 calories. When I brought this up to the staff member, he didn’t really have an answer, except to suggest I could create my own sub to fit my needs. I found it odd that there weren’t any low-calorie options on the menu. Anyway, that’s my experience—sorry for the lengthy review!"
