"I was very excited to try this restaurant and I was impressed by the ambiance. The lighting was low to set the mood, and it wasn't crowded or too loud. Our server Manny was kind and informative about the food and drinks. We followed his recommendations and ordered the bread service and the Ya Ya gumbo. The bread service was amazing, even though I don't usually eat bread. The Ya Ya gumbo was also delicious, and I appreciated the different spices in it. We also tried the bone-in pork chops and the scallop Creole, which were both delicious. I will definitely be returning for brunch!"

"The chefs here have a talent for blending unique flavors that work together for an interesting and delightful experience. The chicken was roasted but had crisp skin as if it were fried. The Steak loin was tender and cooked to temperature. Wild mushrooms, brussel sprouts, collard greens; all seasoned well. Diverse and inventive cocktails and fabulous service. Wonderful escape from the chains on Broadway, with 3 floors of modern art on display."

"I booked a dinner for two about a week and a half in advance. When we arrived, we were seated at a table that was patio furniture pulled from outside and placed in an area where there was room. The couple seated next to us told us they had requested to be moved from the table we were seated at because it was uncomfortable and kind of awkward being in the walkway for the serving staff. When we requested to be moved, we were informed all the tables were booked up, even though when we arrived most of the tables were empty. We chose to stay and ordered food, which was good. I had the filet and added some cauliflower and my wife had the swordfish and added some rosti. We also had some drinks and dessert. We recommend the smoked honey drink. When we finished some of the tables were still empty and we were both pretty annoyed with that considering our bill was about after the tip. This is the second time we've been here and we like the food but the first time the service was slow and this time we got relegated to patio furniture. Maybe if you sit at the bar or if it's not busy it'll be good, but it will likely be awhile again before we give them another shot especially considering the price point"

"We were disappointed in the Brass Hat. We had heard great reviews and did not feel that way after our experience. The ambiance is nice. The service was outstanding. I wish I could say the same about our meal. First of all,my wife's **** Mary was so spicy she could hardly drink it. I had the steak and eggs and my wife had the Meaty Benny. My steak was overdone and tough. My scrambled eggs were tasteless as they had not been seasoned at all. My wife's medallions were tough and the Bearnaise sauce was covering her whole meal. Needless to say, we will not return to The Brass Hat"

"Enjoyed a nice lunch at Palette Tea Garden on a busy Saturday lunchtime. It was super swamped, but the husband and I got a seat within five minutes via walk in as there was bar seating available. If you have a large group, definitely make a reservation as it gets busy here. The interior of the restaurant is very trendy and clean and I love how open it feels. The service was pretty good and most service staff were a little more pleasant than other Chinese restaurants I 've been to. To order, you just need to fill out a menu by marking the items you want. The food here is a combination of traditional Chinese Dim Sum along with some fusion items. It definitely is much pricier than most hole in the wall places, but I thought the food was sound and enjoyed the dishes we got. The softshell crab chuerng fun (rice crepe) was a favorite as the crab was very crunchy and perfectly seasoned and the noodles were soft and delicious it was a nice change from the standard shrimp version. Overall, we really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service and will likely come back to try more items."

"My experience at Daddy Mac’s was phenomenal!! We had Deja as our server, and were greeted with her bright smile! We never had to ask for a refill, and the food came out at a perfect time! She informed us of the menu items and suggested a few of her favorites as we have never been to the restaurant before! She made us feel welcomed and we will definitely be back to see Ms. Deja and enjoy the amazing food!!"

"My friends and I are visiting from NYC for Southern Decadence and were excited to try the local restaurants. We decided on Croquette as the first dinner on our trip, but regretted that decision by the end of our meal. Since we were a large group of 10, we had to reserve in two groups per restaurant restrictions. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the host and manager rudely informed us that we wouldn’t be able to sit together as they were informed of our split reservations at the last minute. It was just strange to us that sitting us all in tables close together would be such a major problem since there were plenty empty tables at the time of our arrival and the checks could still be split per table so no issues for the staff. The manager continued to be rude and aggressive towards us stating “This is just how I run my restaurant.” I was shocked by his level of unprofessionalism and lack of hospitality towards his patrons. It even got worse after we ordered our food. The main dishes took almost an hour to get to our table. To add insult to injury, there were many other tables that received their dishes earlier than us even though being seated after us. My friend was even charged for a drink he never received during dinner. All in all, the dishes were mediocre, so even that wasn’t consolation enough for the poor service we received. This restaurant really put a damper on the beginning of our first evening. I truly hope this is not indicative of what NOLA has to offer in fine dining experiences."

"Went here on someone's recommendation, and was disappointed in the food. Waitress was just the right amount of friendly and sassy. Fried onions were great, although the bottom half looked like they were from an old batch. Got the fried seafood platter, had to ask for tarter sauce.
