"Unfortunately, the staff was not particularly helpful with food recommendations, except for pushing the $50 dinner special. After trying twice to get their input on menu items, we were disappointed to learn that the dish I wanted was sold out, despite explicitly expressing that we weren't interested in the special. It would have been courteous for our server to mention this while we were deciding what to order.
We decided to start with the artichoke dip, but instead of a thick dip suitable for pita bread, we received a watery soup that didn’t cling to the chips at all. Additionally, we soon discovered that there was a loud musician performing right next to us on a balcony, which made the atmosphere even less enjoyable.
Ultimately, we chose to leave early. As food enthusiasts who love dining out, this experience fell short of our expectations. It’s essential for restaurants to know their menus, inform guests about sold-out items promptly, and seat patrons in their requested areas. The quality of food should always be checked before being served. If something is not up to standard, customers should be informed rather than given subpar dishes without notice.
This place seems better suited for enjoying craft beers in a casual bar environment rather than for a romantic evening or special occasion. We ended up going to Maude's afterward, and the experience there was fantastic from start to finish!"
