"Fanny Quigley was an American pioneer, prospector, and cook during the Klondike Gold Rush, who lived in what is now Denali National Park and Preserve. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t quite live up to the name. We arrived during peak hours and ended up sitting on high stools at the bar, but thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long for our meal.
The menu was rather standard and could have used more variety; it featured classic American dishes like cheesesteak sandwiches, fried chicken sandwiches, and, of course, a Cobb salad. What’s Alaska without fresh fish? There was a full bar available, and some entertainment was wrapping up when we arrived.
While they did have a gas fire pit outdoors, the smell was overpowering and gave me a slight headache. The service was good, but the food was mediocre. The interior was nicely decorated, and the entertainment was enjoyable for the last five minutes. I just wish the food reflected traditional options like sourdough, beans, and pierogi, honoring the region's rich migration history. Overall, it was an average experience."
