"This location (replacing their stalwart 9th ave space) is a lot more like their UWS locations in design aesthetic. Modern, clean lines, but it is LOUD. My father is hard of hearing and it became tough to talk after the 7pm dinner rush filtered in. For those who remember the 9th ave spot, we weren't quite as close to the neighboring tables, but still elbow to elbow. The food, fortunately, has remained untouchable. I have dreams about their cashew cream ravioli if it disappeared I would be heartbroken. The spaghetti squash cake with risotto was so good that I ate the leftovers for breakfast the next morning cold. I probably could've eaten 2 of their caesar salads. They did change the way they are either making or sourcing their seitan, and I did not like it quite as much as in times past, but it's still miles beyond anything else available now that candle cafe is gone. The service was okay. We had to look around asking for more water. We didn't get everything we ordered (we over ordered anyway). At the end of the day, it was a good meal, but for the fine dining prices, I wish they put a little more into making the experience feel special too."
