"We got to the restaurant at 11am for a later breakfast. Took 20 minutes for somebody to come over to our table to take drink order. We ordered mimosas that also took 20 minutes and a few reminders later to be served to us, as they forgot to put our drink order in. We also ordered another set of drinks for them to never come. THEN, it took an hour for food to come out and everything was cold and overcooked. The “manager” who was also the server and hostess was socializing the entire time and all the staff was so fixated on a trivia game going on in the restaurant the entire time. I am in the service industry and serve people everyday this 100% was the worst service i ever received. All you get is the excuse “we’re short staffed” but you see plenty of people working serving, running food, bartending AND training. They ended up taking care of the bill for us which was nice, but it wasn’t the point. Definitely not worth the two hours we wasted in this restaurant."

"we had dinner during the restaurant week. the menu choices were wonderful and a very good value. the pork belly appetizer was delicious, including the fired green tomato. the Pimento cheese was good with the tomats, but didn't really fit with the pig bell. my cattle short nativity was out of this world. also the kalbsmarsala of my wife was great. were huge. chocolate cake dessert was just so-so. the service was attentive. the atmosphere is very casual, but loud. the chairs were not too comfortable."

"I went to Blue on Highland for the first time this weekend, and I was impressed. We started with the buffalo cauliflower, which was absolutely delicious it was so lightly fried I could have sworn it was just steamed. The buffalo sauce had a bold Buffalo flavor but wasn't overpowering in the spiciness department. We also tried the blue nachos, which came on blue corn chips with braised short rib meat, corn, red onion, and a delicious white sauce. Those nachos were fantastic, and I would go back just for those. It was Saturday so prime rib was on the menu. The prime rib was delicious. The queen size was huge! A big hit with the diners I was with was the horseradish sour cream to go with the prime rib, it was DELICIOUS. The garlic broccoli was just fresh steamed broccoli tossed with fresh garlic. Simple garlicky and delicious in my opinion. I ended up with the pesto gnocchi..... It was everything I wanted and more! The pesto taste was delicious and fresh like they had just ground up the basil and garlic before making a cream sauce out of it. The mushrooms were delicious in there along with the pancetta, all of them together created a dreamy dish. I would absolutely go back to try other menu items as they had quite a few delicious sounding meals."

"I travel often on business and loved the Barrel House in downtown Davenport and saddened that it is closed. I was ecstatic to find one open in Dubuque and I could get my Firecracker shrimp taco fix. I ordered the wings first as a appetizer. Food was good but not great but what dropped the review to 4 stars is the tacos came out first. 5 minutes later the wings showed up. Apparently they have problems timing appetizers and main courses. I would definetly dine here again and they have a great craft beer selection. Definitely missing my Dubuque Star Big Muddy Red...the finest beer ever brewed in the state of Iowa"

"Food was ok at best, overpriced for sure. My main problem though was a woman in the kitchen who would yell LOUDLY probably every 5 minutes. At first it was kind of funny, I won 't lie I chucked because it was so random. But it quickly got old. I would be in the middle of a sentence and then a loud PASS (I believe she was yelling to wait staff that food was in the pass) that would interrupt it. It was the most bizarre thing I 've ever encountered. I 've worked in restaurants and we 've never needed a cook to scream PASS for the food to get picked up. Wild. "I have been to Blue Wasabi for the second time now and it has consistently provided a good, laid-back atmosphere for enjoying delicious sushi and drinks quickly. "I didn't want to even give a one star for what happened tonight .We ordered food and Waited 50 minutes The bartender never came back to check on us or say that our food would be out soon So we ask a different bartender To check on the food which was was never even ordered all we got was oh sorry I forgot , then when I paid with Tailgators cash that was not even done correctly she charged my cc more and said I had only given her 3 $10 certificates and to her surprise when she showed them to me there were 4 just like I said. She told me I could not tip on them which I had no intentions of doings so I was going to have that put on my debit card. But with the lack of professionalism that did not happen no tip. Over the year we have been going to this bar and the service has just gotten worse and we don't feel like they even care so WE WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN !!"

"I visited this restaurant after work, and it always seems to be busy. I decided to stop by after work, and even though it was late, they kindly served me. While waiting for my order, I took some time to look around the layout. It felt a bit strange because I practically had the whole place to myself. There’s plenty of space both inside and outside, but I wouldn’t recommend eating outside in the winter since there’s a lot of snow. If you haven’t been here yet, I definitely suggest giving them a try. Two thumbs up!"

"My wife and I were feeling hungry and thirsty after watching a boys basketball game at Geneva High School, where they had a great win that night. We asked one of the teachers for restaurant recommendations nearby, and she enthusiastically praised OTP, highlighting its food, atmosphere, and especially the must-try onion rings. She really sold us on the place, but I’m getting ahead of myself. The directions she gave us were spot on, and when we arrived, it was a quiet evening. We ordered a beer and a mixed drink; my Stella was refreshing and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her mixed drink too, which had the perfect balance of Tito's vodka and cranberry juice—not too strong but just right. She loved it so much that she ordered a second one, which she declared outstanding. For dinner, I chose the wings while my wife ordered the OTP burger with a side of onion rings. She really enjoyed the burger, saying it was cooked to her liking and juicy, with a delightful blend of flavors and crunch. As for my chicken wings, they were absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly moist without being greasy or over-fried. I loved being able to mix and match the seasonings; the spicy BBQ, hot BBQ, and plain BBQ were all excellent. The onion rings exceeded our expectations—fresh with a perfect amount of delicious beer batter. They were simply irresistible! The restaurant has a warm, friendly vibe reminiscent of a Cheers bar, and it’s definitely our go-to spot for our next visit to the area. Overall, this place is EXCELLENT! Parking: Easy parking available on Main Street. Kid-friendliness: Offers kid-friendly meal options."
