"After a hike in Mt Tam, my group and I stopped at this restaurant, which was bustling with customers. It is takeout only, with a couple of registers where we ordered and waited outside for our food for about 10 minutes. The menu is extensive, focusing on proteins and sides like plantains, rice, and beans, making it vegetarian-friendly. I ordered the bistec sandwich, tostones con mojo avocado, and the ponche. The food was decent, but for the price of about $30, it was a bit underwhelming. The steak in my sandwich was tough, making it difficult to eat without falling apart. The tostones lacked seasoning, with only a hint of garlic but no salt. The sauce was good, but I had too many tostones for it to make a difference. The ponche, however, was a standout and refreshing after our hike. Overall, I was disappointed in the food, but if it was more affordable, I would recommend it for the generous portions. Next time, I might just come for a drink and some sides, and I'll remember to bring my own salt and pepper."
