"Came here years ago with the family. Since then, they changed ownership. I didn 't realize this since the English name Dong Bei Mama is the same. But, my Mom told me their Chinese name is different. We ordered: -XLB: Just ok. I was expecting the filling to be more soupy and the meat to be more tender, but the soup part was kind of lacking. Flavor was good though. -Beef pancake roll: A favorite of mine! this was huge. I was expecting an appetizer size roll, but it was literally a pancake that was as big as a serving platter cut into 6 pieces. Good for sharing. I loved the balance of the cucumbers and cilantro rolled into the pancake and there was a generous amount of beef. -Jiajiangmian: My second favorite fish of the night! Not overly saucy and the ground pork was grounded perfectly and mixed into the noodles very well. The server actually mixed the noodles for us, which I greatly appreciated since I usually make a mess trying to mix this dish myself. Noodles were cooked perfectly and chewy. Had two bowls of this because it was addicting. -Daomiu in broth: This was different. Normally, I opt for dao miu in garlic, but wanted to try something different. This was topped with diced ham, carrots, peas, and preserved egg. I was surprised at the preserved egg, but I like it, so no complaints here. -Three delicacies dumplings: I enjoyed this much more than the XLB. It was filled with pork, shrimp, chives. The perfect dumpling filling combo, if you ask me. Overall, good food for a great price. The total came out to be $77 for these 5 dishes and we had leftovers! One note: I really wanted to try the mung bean noodles and dried beancurd with pork dish, but I was told they were sold out because of the long weekend. I was a bit bummed out because the mung bean noodle is the main reason I went to the restaurant in the first place. Guess I have a reason to go back now!"
