"My husband and I took our mother’s to Mavrix’s for our first time Saturday night. I have read so many comments about people raving about this place, service and food. We walked in and Brandon the Mgr greeted us with a smile and asked how he could help. I requested a table instead of a booth and he told me it would be a 30 minute wait which was no problem. While waiting I asked his honest opinion about ordering Gene’s Way with garlic Parmesan cheese fries. Was it that good as what people were saying it was. Brandon confirmed it was and that’s what he orders and then I asked what sauce he recommended for the wings. He said crazy Q and boy was he right. I could hardly wait to get to our table which by the way was not a 30 minute wait to order. We got our table that I requested and boy did Brandon set us up with a fabulous waitress named Nina. Nina had a pretty smile and her reflection in her voice came across to us that she was happy to be there and service us. She answered a few more questions we had and did not rush us while looking over the menu. Nina and Brandon were very attentive to our needs and our first experience there was amazing. We can’t wait to go back and tell our kids and friends about Mavrix’s. It definitely was our first time but definitely not our last. The food was spectacular, the ambiance was fun and energetic but thank you Brandon and Nina for going above and beyond. We’ll be back!!"

"We ordered three sandwich combo meals that came with chips and salsa. My dining companion went to the restroom and returned, suggesting that the restaurant might be facing management issues. She pointed out that there was grime in the corners and around the sinks, and the changing table in the handicap stall was left down and dirty. The salsa resembled pure crushed tomatoes, with only a small amount of chopped onions mixed in. I ordered a club sandwich, but it arrived cold and soggy, with only two slices of bread instead of three. My half sandwich had no visual appeal, and none of the sandwiches seemed hot or appetizing. My friend’s sandwich was also cold and dry. The third sandwich was simply half an onion roll on a plain plate, accompanied by sides that included a small 6-inch pizza, which was probably the best item we received, albeit just average. I ordered pasta primavera, which turned out to be more like a soupy Alfredo with a small portion of grilled vegetables. My daughter’s penne pasta was served with an Alfredo sauce that had badly curdled. When I voiced my concerns to management, they charged me $4.99 for a very small half sandwich, rather than the $8 and change for the combo. I requested to speak with the manager and had to wait for the server to fetch him three times. When he finally arrived at our table, it seemed as if they thought I wouldn't leave until he showed up. All he could tell me was that the sauce hadn’t curdled in the kitchen and, despite seeing the curdled sauce himself, he mentioned that he had no way of knowing if the service had been slow or if the food was cold because he was busy expediting orders. Initially, I asked him if they were busy that night, trying to find some explanation for our terrible dining experience, which I can only describe as the worst I’ve had in over 50 years. To wrap up, I can't help but wonder: Shouldn't managers be aware of what's happening in their restaurant? And if he was expediting food, shouldn’t he have noticed the curdled sauce?"
