"Maru Sushi is on Powell Street, along the Powell-Hyde cable car line on the south side of Nob Hill, just a few blocks up from Union Square. It is a modest and pleasant-looking restaurant, with friendly service and excellent sushi. We had a California roll and a Spicy Tuna Roll on the lunch special $16), and the Swamp $16.50), which despite its unappetizing name was very tasty. Many other items are available. A cup of Jasmine tea was a bit steep at $4 a pot of loose tea for two would have been more economical). Overall it was a good lunch experience."

"Ordnete Tempura dish for 19.95. What I got was a large bowl of dried rice with a few pieces of hard, fried vegetables and a small shrimp that obviously sat under a heat lamp. I couldn't finish it because it was just inconspicuous and chew. I politely asked the server who I could say was a young person, maybe a high student when that was normal. I saw how the server went to manager/owner/pick and asked them. The manager/owner/images, who sorted silverware, did not even look at the server and without a word the index finger, indicating that only 1 piece of shrimp were normal. It was quite unprofessional and even I felt bad for our server. Apart from the poor quality of food, high prices, this simple and short interaction I experienced, talked a lot about this place. You lost a customer in me."

"Awwwwful service! They don’t treat us the same as anglos. I have to ask for everything. The take out is worse!! I ask for extra soy and they give me one packet. She tells me “you have one in your bag” I tell her the order is for three people and she actually threw two more chopsticks and two soy sauce. I’ve been going there for years and I’ve referred friends, and they’ve experience the same. The hand rolls are half the size and the rolls have more rice than before and the price is three dollars more. I get we’re in hard times, but no excuse for mediocre service. Next take out I’m going to say my name is Smith."

"I discovered a wonderful gem of a restaurant. Is it the most luxurious spot with extravagant features? Not really. However, that simplicity is what makes it a charming and peaceful place to savor some truly delicious food along with extraordinarily friendly service. I ordered a variety of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri—definitely a substantial amount of food! The fish was fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous as well. They even offered gluten-free tamari and were very accommodating in ensuring my choices were gluten-free. But what truly set Fuji apart was the exceptional service, which definitely puts it on my list of places to revisit the next time I'm in town. I noticed that many other diners and those waiting for takeout, like myself, were clearly regulars who appreciated the great food and service just as much as I did. I regretted not being able to stay and enjoy my meal on-site... but I’ll definitely be back next time!"

"I like this place as it has many manufacturers choices of dishes. Went with a group of colleagues for lunch at this place. The decoration is unique. The staff very friendly and busy. Arrived there about 11:30am and there was.only 2 couples in.. we made it before the lunch rush, as we were waiting about 20 minutes for the food to arrive at our table. The groups kept coming in.The food... I can't say about how good it is. Bravo to the chefs. The wait staff maintained everyone waiting and even provided the full house of customers with lightly fried delicious pot stickers stating this is on the house. Thank you for waiting.I had the spicy Ramen. The broth was colorfully red and you can see the spices on the noodles as I grabbed them up with the chopsticks.I will give this place a 4 stars rating. Food good, staff good, but to their detriment unfortunately does not provide a military/ Veterans Discount. Note: some ethnic food (Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean, Chinese, Ramen, Korean) places do honor Military and Veteran discounts by showing it and demonstrating as much. Sorry, that extra (5th) star is reserved solely for Military honors.Now some places don't and depending on the wait staff or management , have had a few that the business doesn't offically honor Military discounts, but some would supply a Senior discount in its place. Depending on the provided product and service, willing to give 5 stars in those cases."

"If you like good sushi, STAY AWAY from O Sushi!!! My mom, sister, and I went to lunch here on 10-3-23 and it was seriously DISGUSTING! The sushi had the strongest most fishy flavor. The raw fish on top had super thick slices and the meat was so chewy we had to spit it out. My mom had another type of fish on top that had the skin still attached! I couldn 't figure out why the whole roll tasted so fishy and just plain nasty. The rice even tasted like rotten fish and was super soggy. I could only stomach two bites and my mom only a few bites. My mom ordered tea which she described as tasting like warm water (no flavor). My sister had a bento box which she said was okay. The only good thing was the miso soup. On top of the horrible food, the chairs are a safety hazard. They have thin metal legs and when you sit down you feel them bending and shaking under you. Only one table, which we ended up moving to, had normal sturdy chairs. My family and I cannot believe this place has such great reviews! Have you all not been to the many other wonderful sushi restaurants we have in Sonoma County?! I forgot to take a picture but doesn 't matter anyway because the picture probably would have looked nice, but the flavor was sickening. "I miss the lady that used to wait table's. I went there a few days ago with my kids, and the lady they had was not a very good waitress. I gave her a $5 tip (she deserved it), and she told my kid's that I was horrible father, and a horrible person for only tipping $5. I tip good with good service. This use to be our favorite spot."

"This was my first time trying this restaurant, and it was an incredible experience! The food was so delicious that I couldn't help but order a second time. I'm still just as excited about it! Just a heads up, they tend to use a lot of sauce on their rolls and umami dishes, so if you prefer less sauce, I recommend asking for it light. Other than that, I’m absolutely thrilled! As someone who loves Gohan but is too lazy to drive and pick it up, this is perfect for me. The sashimi was excellent, the rolls were fantastic, and the tempura was great as well. They really take care to ensure that the food travels well, so it's not a soggy mess when it arrives. Great job!"
