"We have been coming to Tongs regularly for 30 years yes, 30 years! We drive 40 minutes to come because it’s our favorite restaurant. It breaks my heart to leave a bad review but tonight, the Polynesian Beef was truly awful. It wasn’t just a bad cut of meat, the sauce and meat tasted terrible! When we addressed the issue with management, they told us the recipe had been changed. The original owners have retired and changes like this are unlikely to be good for business. The Polynesian Beef w … – show"

"Tonight I tried Fusion Sushi located on PCH in Torrance. Despite my initial disappointment in the diameter size of my Sushi Rolls ? I realized that I should put aside my negativities and dive in. The food tasted absolutely amazing. Instead of six slices of sushi I was surprised to see there was actually eight slices. I purchased the Shrimp Roll ? that was pretty good and a Lobster Roll which I strongly recommend as it was bursting with flavor. However, I could not tell if it was Lobster or miniature Shrimps in place of it, lol. ?As for my drink, I think they could have given a more generous size of their yummy raspberry iced tea as it wasn't very big.Price was fairly reasonable and comparative to how delicious the meal was. My dinner tonight was fantastic and I'm most definitely going to return.4 Stars from me. If you're looking for a great local sushi spot and haven't stopped in yet, then you have to try them. Thank you to the friendly staff who were very nice to me. God bless you all and stay safe!"

"The spicy tuna poke bowl is fantastic. The El Segundo roll and Washington roll are both fresh and delicious. I highly recommend them. I enjoy trying new things, and everything I've tasted here has been delightful. The husband and wife owners are incredibly kind and passionate about their work, which is evident in the quality of the food. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!"

"My family and I have been dining at Haru Sushi (now known as IchiUmi Sushi) for the past three years. We first discovered this restaurant when the pandemic began and we were craving fresh, high-quality sushi to enjoy at home. Haru offered delicious fish and sides at reasonable prices, with generous portions that satisfied our appetites. The bento boxes came with cute little sides that fulfilled our warm, crunchy, and pickle cravings. The balance of flavors was exceptional, leaving us full and satisfied. The sashimi and sushi platters were always a hit, accompanied by a variety of wonderful side dishes that provided a nice break from the fish. Some of our favorite sides included the brussel sprouts and shrimp udon salad, which were so delicious that we sometimes order them even when dining at a sushi restaurant. Despite the restaurant changing names multiple times, the prices have consistently been fair for the amount and quality of food you receive. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions or a casual lunch, as the food is perfect for a picnic. The only downside we have experienced is the inconsistent service during dine-in visits, with one waitress being very nice while another waiter was rude."

"Great spot for filling takeout!! Got the Teriyaki Beef Dinner Box, which came not just with the sushi and teriyaki beef w/rice and miso soup and salad (which I figure usually come w/ a bento box , but it also had eggrolls and shumai! I was surprised by the variety--you will definitely be full. Everything was nicely packaged too. All the food was good but I personally didn't love the salad dressing (not sure what it was, but it was a little thick and tasted like pumpkin? . Would definitely get again when considering takeout and also would love to try the sushi here!"

"Decided to switch up our sushi routines and tried Hokkaido Sushi Teppan. They have great happy hour appetizer and sushi specials including one of my favorites, takoyaki, which was cooked to perfection with a creamy inside, super tender octopusbites inside, and a generous portion of bonito flakes on top (only thing it was missing was the Mayo on top). I tried thehibachi (they have the tables for the show but they serve it sans-show on the regular table side) and the steak was cookedperfectly medium rare, the scallops still tender, and about $5 cheaper than Kobe (though Kobe’s soup, ginger dressing, noodsand white sauce are still king). The sushi was also excellent with generous amounts of quality tuna in the tuna roll, greatconsistency and flavor on the rice, crisp tempura shrimp, and well constructed rolls. Excellent service, clean dining area andbathrooms. Only thing is it’s a bit small, I think 4-5 hibachi tables for 8 and the regular seating was about 10 tables, probably could seat 30? But they were doing a big takeout business too so you can get it to go as well."

"Ate at Hiro Sushi for the first time for a birthday party. It was fabulous. Small intimate restaurant. Sushi was fresh and amazing. Personnel were very attentive and friendly. All six of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and entire experience. Vegetarian options: Vege tempura and sliced fresh seasonal verges. Kid-friendliness: Even gave the kids a little kitty key chain. Service: Dine in"

"There was one other table in the restaurant, however it still took us 10 minutes to get greeted. We ordered 4 rolls, as well as chicken teriyaki. The soup and salad came out quick but was nearly inedible. The salad was swimming in, whatever they consider to be ginger dressing, and the soup was so greasy it was separating as it cooled. It took about 25 minutes for the main food, which is fine, however, every single roll tasted the same. Everything was bland, as if it was old freezer burned food they should’ve just tossed. The chicken was a thin, flat piece of chewy chicken with some teriyaki sauce tossed on top. We reminded the server for the spicy Mayo and extra set of chopsticks, but once the food came she never came back again, we saw her 2 times. We asked another server for our check (at this point there were 3 tables). We ate about half of the food, and she seemed confused when we didn’t want boxes…maybe if she had showed up once after the food arrived she would’ve known. The cost is the same as many other better, and similar restaurants in the area. Do your taste buds and patience a favor, and don’t go here"

"I truly love this restaurant. Everything is exceptionally fresh, and you can tell that they put a lot of care and pride into their preparations. My husband and I make it a tradition to eat here every Friday night for their delicious sushi, and sometimes we even come twice in one week! We've never had a bad meal here. If sushi isn't your preference, I strongly suggest trying their pineapple fried rice—it's amazing. The owners are incredibly friendly and always make us feel welcome."

"Update: It missed the mark this time. However extremely busy, our rolls were extremely dry and the fried shrimp were cold. Come on crouching tiger, don?t you hide that dragon! You get a decent sized portion for what you order. I think the flavor andvarious sushi rolls make this sushi restaurant ichiban (the best) around. Plus if you have friends who hate raw sushi thisrestaurant has many fried rolls Or if you love fried food?. Like I do?.. fried Twinkie anyone? If you want extra eel sauce, they only give you a small glob of eel sauce. Sever got his steps in: I had to order four sides of eel sauce. Five rolls costsaround 70 dollars before drinks and tip. They have hibachi however I have not visited this place twice yet. But will order thehibachi in due time."

"I usually get lunch here once or twice a month. I order the sushi lunch special, which is delicious, but I have a concern about the menu on their website, and the explanation I received from the hostess. Around 12:40 a.m., I placed an order over the phone at their Rancho San Diego restaurant location. On the Yi Sushi website, it stated that my menu item- sushi lunch special was $10.50. When I spoke to the lady who answered the phone, she said it was $13.00. When I arrived at the restaurant, I explained it to her again. She said that if I showed it to her what I was referring to, and it was $10.50, she would honor the price. I showed her, on my phone, where her website showed $10.50 for the lunch special. She said that that was an old menu that the public must have added. I said no one can access and change your website but you web account administrator. It appears to be false advertising. She still charged me $13.00 saying that I ordered the sushi regular- which is the same as the lunch special Amazing! Due to the untruthfulness of this discussion, I may begin looking for another sushi restaurant."

"This Chinese/Japanese restaurant is probably the worst I have ever been to. I ordered the sesame chicken and it was terrible. The chicken was chewy like rubber and the sauce was overly sweet. The sushi was also not good, tasting like something you would buy from a store. After that disappointing meal, I lost my appetite and decided to leave. It seems like I'm not the only one who had a bad experience because every time I drive past, the restaurant is empty. Overall, this place is just not worth it."

"The worst sushi I've ever had in my life. Stay clear of this place I ordered a delivery and I honestly should have checked the reviews before placing my order because I would have never ordered. But I really wanted sushi and the photos looked delicious. But you can't eat good looks this food is foul. The tuna roll is off it taste like rotten fish. I was given imitation crab and I was not aware that was going to be on the roll. On top of that the sushi rice was stale. And now I'm feeling sick. This restaurant is cutting corners with cheap and rotten meat and making money off of it. It's disgusting and not how you should run a business or treat customers. And seemingly from other low reviews this is a common occurrence."

"First time at the restaurant. Great food. Very generous portion. Fantastic service. Shout out to our server, Jack. He was so friendly and attentive. Outside of the food, We would come back for him. He made us all so welcome. We had the love boat for two for three ppl. Also added a spicy girl specialty roll, baby bok Chou, and house fried rice for our non sushi eater. They gave us the fried ice cream in the house for one of our birthday. We will definitely come back again. Cheers Ohayo, you gain another loyal customer."

"Clean, authentic, attractive interior. Polite service. They have 12 tables which post-COVID could seat 36 people. The interior is modern, renovated, well-lit, neutral-toned, Asian themed. The menu is extensive with both Chinese and Japanese offerings. The portions are large! Note this when observing prices. There is a seating specially for Sushi. My pork dumplings were excellent! Quality. Plate presentation unexpected and garnished with lettuce which added to the sensory experience. Take a look at my main course. Huge and excellently fresh."

"From the outside, the restaurant may look like one of non-Japanese sushi places, so our expectations were not high at the beginning. However, it was much better than expected and we will definitely go back. I mean we can get good sushi if we pay premium, but we can get good quality sushi at Atami for relatively reasonably. The service is very good as well"
