"The cheese pizza I had was quite filling, but that’s where the positives end. The cheese had a rubbery texture, the sauce was insufficient and bland, and the dough was chewy, lacking both flavor and proper cooking. Overall, the pizza reminded me of the kind I endured in school, which I was eager to forget—definitely not a good sign. While pizza is generally an affordable meal option, these plain slices were over $3.50 each! For something so basic and unappealing, that's outrageous. There are countless places in and around NYC that offer much better pizza at lower prices. It's shocking how expensive this disappointing pizza is, especially given how many tourists and locals the restaurant attracts. The price for a whole pizza is somewhat reasonable, at least. Unfortunately, the worst part came shortly after finishing the pizza—I experienced a severe stomachache that felt like intense menstrual cramps for hours. I completely lost my appetite for dinner and only managed to eat some fruit, which was uncomfortable to do. It’s worth noting that I hadn’t eaten anything else beforehand, so the pizza was definitely the culprit. Who knows, maybe there was actual rubber or plastic in that cheese? I wouldn’t be shocked. The pizza on display also looked dry, overly thin, and of poor quality. Additionally, I’ve ordered from here before, and I can confirm that you cannot microwave this pizza. It cools down rapidly, so if you order more than one slice, reheating is almost a necessity. However, when you do, the pizza becomes even tougher and chewier (and tasteless) than before. Trust me, do NOT microwave this pizza. I’ve tried it and regretted ordering pizza entirely. I wouldn’t have bothered writing a review if it weren't for the stomachache—it truly was the last straw. This place will definitely be my last choice for takeout on the island from now on."

"Although the food was good I just cannot get over the fact that the service was so incredibly poor. Things took a very long time to get to the table including the dessert which was just a slice of cake (how long could that take We were waiting for so long for things like water or our entrees that by the time we ordered dessert we figured it would be best to order it together w the check as to avoid further delays. We understood there was a large party at the same time as us but that does not explain how other tables that came in after us left much faster than us which had us thinking our server liked us so much she wanted us to close the restaurant with her. The manager did come to apologize for the delays at one point but that only seemed to slow things down further as any course after said check in took much longer 🤷🏻‍♂️ beyond my understanding really……also oddly enough the pictures on the website really do not much the real life thing…..figured i mentioned because they are quite different"

"This is the least authentic Italian restaurant I've ever visited. They use Uncle Ben's rice for their risotto, and almost everything tastes like it's been deep-frozen and has freezer burn. The nice dining room feels like just a cover for overpriced, inauthentic Southern Italian cuisine. The only decent dishes they serve are the pizzas. The bolognese is bland, and the marinara is equally flavorless. The sausage is frozen, and the meatballs are microwaved. Don't be deceived by the appealing exterior; it's basically a worse version of Olive Garden."

"I went to apply to Village Fare Pizza for a job when I saw a help wanted sign on the front of the store. Woman employee said they were not hiring. I found it suspicious that they still had the help wanted sign up since it takes all of 2 minutes to take down the sign if they weren't hiring anymore. Being a person of color, I've experienced this situation before. I called the next day and inquired about their job positions. Man on phone stated that they WERE hiring for two positions. Pretty sure what they did was illegal."

"I have been eating here for years, I really am sad to say that the drinks have gone downhill. We ordered 4 different types of drinks, they were all terrible (they used to be awesome). Not sure why the change in quality, but I was already apprehensive to come back because the service had gone downhill. Now, the service is good but the drinks have tanked. It’s probably going to be a while before I come back, which is sad, since this place is really conveniently located and within walking distance of my office."

"Always a treat. Food is just spot on. Authenticity matters. Great veal, fish and pasta dishes and a very thoughtful wine list too. On this latest trip we had their latest iteration of how to make burrata exciting this time with fresh grape tomatoes, black olives, fresh mix of spinach and assorted greens with a mortadella rosette in the middle. Awesome take on the fresh burrata. Other appetizer was the blanco clams (you can't pass them up as the broth has tons of pancetta and just a hint of red pepper flake for a kick). Entrees were the Veal Saltimbucca (special) and the porcini mushroom and sausage gnocchi decadent. Great hand crafted cocktails from the stellar bar too. If you leave room for dessert lots of options, but we always lean towards the classic affagato. Delish!"

"Ordered an Asian Chicken Salad for lunch, and after an hour wait, I got a salad with turkey and the wrong lettuce. Parts of our group got their food 30 minutes before the rest, and we finally had to leave after an hour and half without everyone getting their food. This was for lunch so all we had were sandwiches and a salad. There's no way, even with staffing shortages, that 6 sandwiches and a salad should take an hour and 30 minutes. If you want a two hour lunch, this is the place for you. Some of us have jobs though."

"My family of five had a fantastic meal here. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was outstanding. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I had the Eggplant Rollatini, and it was excellent—big enough for me to take home a second dinner. The Chicken Parmigiana was also superb. Our waiter was attentive, knowing it was our first visit and making sure we were well taken care of. Although the ambiance wasn't particularly impressive, I highly recommend this place. My 20 children enjoyed it just as much as my husband and I did. Give it a try!"

"I ordered the tilapia fish dish, but it tasted terrible so I sent it back. The waitress was not friendly and the staff was unprofessional. "We came for my boyfrienda birthday. It was extremely disapppointing. The food was awful and over priced. There was also limited selection. The caesar salad was terrible and full of the ier yellow lettuce that made it bitter. I hadnt been to the restaurant for years and it has significantly gone down hill. I was speaking to an acquaintance and he had the same opinion.Service was ok but slow. Actually the busboy forget to give one of us water and when we asked for it, he argued with us and said he did give it.Truly was a waste of moey but more importantly ruined the birthday celebration."

"I have to start by saying that no one makes food quite like this restaurant. It may be a small, hidden gem, but the service is exceptional. The food is the most delicious I have ever tasted. The pizza here is truly exceptional. The owner always takes the time to greet us personally. One thing that I really appreciate is that the owner never gives us a hard time about my youngest child bringing in outside food. It can be difficult to find a welcoming place to dine as a family when my child has autism, so I am grateful for their understanding. The young chef is always so kind and seems to know exactly what we want as soon as we arrive. Thank you for always taking such wonderful care of us. He has become a familiar face in the restaurant, and I have seen him every time we have visited over the past two years. Thank you to the entire staff for the delicious food and the love you show us."

"My husband and I visited Miami for a short two-night getaway and made a reservation at this wonderful restaurant. The service was outstanding, and the food was incredible! I ordered the Bife de chorizo (NY Strip), while my husband chose the ojo de bife (ribeye). Both steaks were cooked to perfection, and the brandy mushroom sauce was absolutely delicious! For dessert, we shared the dulce de leche molten cake paired with banana split ice cream, and it was simply divine! The meal brought back memories of our trip to Buenos Aires. I highly recommend this restaurant! Just be aware that a service charge is added at the end of the meal without prior notice."

"We were three adults with two (well dressed and well behaved) children at 5 p.m. on a Sunday. The restaurant was half empty and the rude hostess pushed us to a high bar table between a gas station and the kitchen door. According to someone other than the hostess, they were taken to a normal table. The staff was either overwhelmed or just terribly trained. The service took forever, the orders were wrong, and the music was unnecessarily loud. BBQ brisket tasted like it had been hit with a mallet and soaked in liquid smoke. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the onion rings were amazing."

"Visit this place at least once a month. This time their house dressing was almost straight vinegar. Normally the food, any of it, it really good. We've tried several dishes and have not had a bad one yet that I can recall. The restaurant is always clean and it can get very busy and you'll find a 30 to 45 min wait. "The replacement at Lisa's Deli is rude and has been turning away long-time customers. I have been coming to Lisa's for 14 years because the food is delicious and the deli staff is fantastic. However, today I went to ACME Deli to make a sandwich because the new employee, an angry blond woman, was incredibly unpleasant. When I called, she immediately snapped that there was a one-hour wait. I agreed and was put on hold. When she finally returned to the phone, she told me it was too busy and suggested I call back later. In person, she is just as dismissive, ignoring customers and choosing to focus on tasks that she deems more important. One day, she even insisted on sweeping when there was nothing to clean up. Dana, the previous employee, was kind and attentive, remembering customers' orders and having them ready within 10-15 minutes. She genuinely cared about her customers. This new employee has been around for a while now, and her lack of concern for customers is evident."
