"If you’ve read my other reviews, you know that I try to shy away from chain restaurants. Anytime I travel I try to find local places to eat at. Pepper’s is one of those local restaurants that I’ve frequented over the years whenever I pass through Boone. My favorite thing about Pepper’s has always been their salad bar. They always had a nice selection of choices and was a good way to start the meal. When I walked in tonight I noticed that the salad bar was gone. I asked about this, and my waiter said they got rid of it and that they offer various salad choices now with your meal. I ordered the meat loaf with roasted vegetables and a side garden salad for my dinner. After a few minutes my waiter came back and informed me that they didn’t have meatloaf and asked if I wanted to order something else. I ordered blackened chicken pasta instead. I also asked for a coke as I had been traveling and was tired and needed a bit of a pick me up. I was informed their coke machine was down and they couldn’t serve soft drinks at this time. My salad had a lot of beet root leaves in it. I am not a fan of beet root leaves and would’ve never picked that from the old salad bar. I didn’t think the pasta was good. I wouldn’t order it again. My wife ordered the French dip sub and said the sandwich was ok. Another change to the Pepper’s menu is that they used to offer thick fluffy steak fries with their sandwiches. These fries were thin and very hard. My wife didn’t like them. I’ve had good experiences at Pepper’s over the years, but don’t think I’ll come back again given the changes that they have made to their menu."

"Today was my first time visiting and ordering from “I love juice bar” and more than likely will be my last time, especially if I don’t hear back from anyone soon. Upon arriving I was excited and pretty impressed, because I have been on my clean eating journey for a couple months now and since arriving to the Wilmington area I have been shopping around for the perfect health food spot taste wise, dollar wise and presentation wise. First impression is a lasting impression.... needless to say a very pleasant young lady took my order which was a “build your own bowl” creation. The presentation of the bowl was awful, but it’s okay, I’ve seen awful and it tasted great, but not in this case. The bowl was VERY tasteless and runny as all ever. I took the bowl back in to ask for a refund or exchange for a smoothie and the young lady explained the situation to her “manager” and the manager then tells me that they don’t do exchanges or refunds, especially when a person builds their own creation. SN: Had the bowl been made correctly it would’ve tasted great and it never should’ve been running like water either. Complete turn off. So rather than giving me my money back, she told me she could make it over and make it with a thicker consistency, so I had her to make one off the menu and she definitely made it with a thicker consistency and it wasn’t too bad. However they were extremely skimpy with the toppings compared to Adapt on Wrightsville beach and Kale me Crazy. I was so upset that I was just trying to remain calm and had forgot that there was like a $5 difference between the bowl that I originally ordered and the one that she made. So I called back and left a message, hopefully I will get a call back. If not, it’s all good too...God bless them anyway. I gave two stars, because the young lady running the cash register was very friendly and had a warm smile. The place is cute and quaint and the manager remade my bowl even though she was quite adamant about not doing anything at first, as I was quite adamant about getting my ordered rectified. Oh and I had purchased the slim and sassy essential oil shot and it was pretty good. Update: I received a phone call from the store owner Blake about 4 hours after my post. He read my post and was not too happy about the services I received. We had a really enlightening conversation and because of that I would be willing to give the store another visit at a later date.
