"If you are in the general vicinity of Bakersfield Porkchop and Bubba's BBQ is a must visit! I've visited a lot of BBQ eateries across the US from the Carolinas and Georgia to Tennessee, Mississippi and Texas. With the exception of Tri Tip BBQ in the west is rarely able to replicate the taste found in the eastern and southern states. I now have to make an exception. Porkchop and Bubba's BBQ is on par with some of the best BBQ found in the east and south and the best I've tasted in California. When visiting we had the pulled pork sandwich with the sweet potato fries and regular BBQ sauce. The pork had a wonderful smoked flavor and was very juicy. The coleslaw was the perfect match for the pulled pork not sweet and overpowering as it can sometimes be and not so wet that it makes the buns of the sandwich soggy. The sweet potato crosscut fries with a honey cinnamon dipping sauce is the best I've ever had just the right mix of salty and sweet."
