"It 's a solid 3 stars, since with everything about it to like, there 's typically something about it to dislike. Example: I Love their Birria tacos and Quesabirrias. But they are quite heavy 99% certain they fry the shells in lard. I enjoy the hell out of it, it 's authentic AF, but it tends to be too heavy for my wife and will give her gastric distress every time. I also love how when ordering delivery through doordash or caviar, they give you all sorts of removal options for your burrito like no rice or no beans, and additions like add lettuce, salsas, etc. What annoys me about these option selections vis a vis menu item selections is that when ordering crispy tacos vs super crispy tacos (my favorite) whether or not the regular crispy tacos actually arrive without sour cream is a toss up. Why sour cream? I typically am disgusted by sour cream, and based on the item description, they should be my go to. The difference should be that only the super taco gets it; sour cream and pico de gallo atop lettuce and cheese, while the regular taco is just lettuce and cheese. Fortunately it 's usually a fixable mistake when it 's added as the last topping so I can just scrape it off with a napkin and replace the crema tainted lettuce and cheese with some of my own. The best thing about this restaurant that has no evil twin doppelganger is that they offer many various sizes for all their salsas, and have a lot of different salsas, all of which are outstanding. Lots of variety and portion control allows for very little waste. While it may seem like a menial detail, fresh chips and salsa are what makes waiting at any busy/casual mexican restaurant worth the wait and these guys nail it."

"I've had the food before and thought it was very good. However, a recent visit was very disappointing. On a Monday evening I walked in there around 8 pm. The cook was in another room and came out after being called on by a very pleasant woman who was cleaning at the time I entered the restaurant. The cook entered the kitchen while talking on his cell phone. He did NOT wash his hands. He did NOT put his cell phone down. Instead, he proceeded to talk on his cell phone while preparing my food. Let me be clear that he was not talking on a hands free phone. It was a cell phone that he attempted to hold to his ear with his shoulder, but frequently used his hands to adjust and switch ears. Mind you, I ordered tacos which requires the use of hands while preparing. I sat there thinking about how filthy the phone was (all cell phones are thoroughly dirty) and got up and left. C'mon! Common sense says that any cook should put down his or her cell phone and wash their hands before preparing a customer's food (especially when the cook was previously in another room and you don't know if his hands were even clean to begin with).November 2021 Update: After several years I decided to give this place another shot. After being charged nearly $15 for a plain cheese quesadilla on a flour tortilla (which was average tasting at best), I'm done with this place. Do yourself a favor and head a few blocks north where you can get fresh and quality food at Taco Heaven(corner of 10th and State Street)."
