"I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants, but Mellow Mushroom is actually pretty good. Since decent food is pretty thin on the ground in Somerset and green food is all but nonexistent, I really appreciate this place because I can get a nice fresh salad, great mushroom soup, really good pizza, and all served with a warm smile. I always have a good dining experience there, which is way more that I can say for any other Somerset restaurant. Now if I can just get them to offer local wines ... ; Hat tip to Pam, my server from yesterday, whose excellent service, friendly demeanor, and big smile made my solo lunch more fun. "My family decided to eat out for Father’s Day dinner and picking this restaurant was such a mistake. We felt bad for the staff because they were trying but the majority were overwhelmed, younger workers. They apologized many times throughout the meal. Ourinitial appetizer order of french fries for the kids came out fast. Then the rest of our food took over a half hour. When it didarrive the kids spaghetti order was in a huge dish larger than anything else on the table and difficult for the three year oldin our party to eat from. Our other kids order was chicken tenders which were burnt and inedible. The adult menu special of fishtacos had a very small amount of fish and looked thrown together. The crowning touch was that our celebrated fathers mealdidn’t come out and they offered no explanation. We waited over another half hour for that meal and still nothing. We askedfor the check multiple times and finally part of our family had to leave. The manager offered to help and still nothing happenedas we watched him just go stand by the front door. Finally, we were able to pay and asked them to remove the meal from ourcheck. They brought the meal out packed to go when they returned with the check to sign. Attached is a photo of what they gaveus. It was flavorless and dry; thank his we didn’t pay the $20 for it. Don’t waste your money or time here."

"We absolutely LOVE MM! The downtown location was the first one we ever visited, and we always took friends and family there. The atmosphere is truly unique, and the staff is exceptional and genuinely accommodating. We later discovered the SouthGlenn location and fell in love with it as well! Now that we have a little one, we enjoyed taking her to the SouthGlenn location during the Christmas season. Just last week, we went to admire the holiday lights and grab some pizza (her favorite), only to find the restaurant closed. We initially thought we arrived too late on a Sunday, but we were shocked to learn that ALL Colorado locations have shut down except for the one on 16th Street! Please, please, please go and eat there so we don't lose the BEST restaurant in Denver and the only Colorado location of this amazing eatery! It’s our FAVORITE!!!"

"The food here is absolutely amazing! You will not be disappointed by anything you order, it's all cooked to perfection! The portion sizes are great and border on the large/generous side and you can box up what you don't finish. I would highly recommend trying the pretzel appetizer (they make their own sauces! and a beer flight to taste the local brews!! Additionally all of the waitstaff are super friendly, courteous and very personable and even when the restaurant is super busy, you'll still feel like your waitstaff gives you their full attention! The atmosphere inside is very cozy and warmly lit with a combination of soft light and string lights. Sometimes the inside can get a little loud when it's busy, especially when they have live music, so if that's not your thing, try to avoid going during peak hours, but that is the nature of bar/restaurant and I will say, the tables are placed with enough distance that you never feel like you're struggling to hear the conversation at your table."

"We celebrated our grandson's birthday at Mellow Mushroom, enjoying a pleasant evening with just family and a few close friends. While the food could have been better, the service was actually quite good. We were able to bring our own birthday cake and our grandson could open his presents, which isn't always allowed in restaurants nowadays. It was a quiet weeknight, which probably contributed to the great experience. The opinions on the food were divided within our group - the pizza was a hit, but the specialty sandwiches were underwhelming. The burger was standard, while the spud puppies were bland and lukewarm. The pretzel bites with beer cheese were tasty, and the meatball trio was decent. One person ordered the California Club sandwich, which was surprisingly small and came with potato chips instead of fries or tots. The steak and cheese hoagie was the least enjoyable dish, with overcooked steak and barely any cheese. Unfortunately, it seemed like the kitchen staff didn't put much care into the dishes they served. Our waitress, possibly named Rachel, was the bright spot of the evening with her pleasant and accommodating service. Overall, the experience was lackluster, but I am rounding up my rating to 4 stars solely because of the excellent service we received."

"My friends and I came to Branson specifically for Kilwins. Our first experience with Kilwins was in Ann Arbor, MI. We loved it so much that we took a road trip to Branson, which was the closest location. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. They gave us two buckets of ice for our ice chest so we could transport the quarts of ice cream we bought back home. My favorites are salted caramel, Kilwins Tracks, and two berry (not sure of exact name). Love this place!"

"It didn't take long for our pretzel bites to arrive at the table. They were delicious—warm, slightly salty, and the cheese sauce was also warm. They practically tasted free, which was a nice bonus! Next up were our salads, which were enormous, filled with a variety of fresh and crisp vegetables. Finally, our pizza arrived! I absolutely loved the thin crust; it was really thin, flavorful, and well-loaded with toppings. While I wouldn’t describe the onions as caramelized, they were cooked nicely. I managed to eat two slices and half of my salad, saving the rest for later. Ron also enjoyed his house salad and liked his pepperoni and sausage pizza, although he wasn't very impressed with the quality of the sausage. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back!"

"Came on a Monday evening and the place was packed. Got a seat at the bar immediately and our tender was quick to welcome us and tell us about the beer and drinks. My wife ordered a Captain and Coke with Cherry and I got the Sweetwater Dank Tank Series 710bHazy Double IPA which was amazing. We ordered the mushroom soup, absolutely fantastic. We also ordered a plain pizza and a white pizza called The Great White. We were not fans of the sweetness of the red sauce on the plain, but the Great White was sublime. "I used to love coming here. We visit our kids in Carolina Shores so we stay in North Myrtle Beach several times a year. This might be our last time for awhile. Fountain drinks were unavailable. "I've heard so much about how great Mellow Mushroom is, especially since the team has been going there after the championship soccer game every year. This year, as a new member of the team, we were really looking forward to our visit. However, we were disappointed to find out that even with an entire section available, they wouldn't seat us and told us to wait an hour for the patio. There was plenty of seating inside the restaurant. When we suggested that we could sit as families and asked if there was any way to accommodate us, the manager responded in the most disrespectful tone I've ever encountered in customer service, telling us to go somewhere else. We understood that they were short-staffed, but the place wasn't busy at all. There was ample room, and we would have happily waited. The rudeness we experienced was completely unwarranted, and I will not be returning to this restaurant. I will also be sure to tell everyone I know to dine elsewhere. With customer service like this, it seems the only reason the restaurant is still in business is due to its name."

That's when I discovered Charlie's and decided to grab a Mediterranean salad. Once I returned to my hotel and tasted it, I was delighted by how delicious it was. Additionally, I noticed they offer lunch specials every day except Sundays. "I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant, starting with the excellent service! My waitress was vegan and let me know that almost everything on the menu can be adapted to be vegan. I ordered some vegan bruschetta and then asked for her recommendation. She suggested sharing a pizza. One half had a Buffalo flavor, topped with potatoes and tempeh for some protein, while the other half featured a “Thai” special with tempeh, cucumber, and tomatoes. I had never tried potatoes on pizza before, but it turned out to be delicious—messy, but delicious! The staff was very friendly, and I loved that they can make almost anything vegan, including everything with vegan cheese! I do wish there had been a bit more tempeh, but overall, it was a great meal!"

"Every time I go into the Sandy Springs Mellow Mushroom I smile because this place represents what was once the heart and soul of Sandy Springs. I love their original location with the bowling balls embedded in the outside wall and loved the funky, divey aspect of the place before Sandy Springs bulldozed them. I don't know where they find the young young wait staff with the colored hair and tattoos and the hippy era vibe. They could well be the daughters and granddaughters of the young women who once hung out on Peachtree Street in the 60's. The new location has been through a couple renovations and has a great bar and inside and outside seating but still provides a welcoming Mellow Mushroom vibe. Obviously while the staff and ambiance are great, warm and welcoming, you go back for the food primarily the pizza and the draft beer and they have a great selection of both. While the pizza is consistently great, I really love the calzone which is huge and a very satisfying meal, the salads are generous and the subs are great as well. I love Mellow Mushroom and appreciate how they were nimble and accommodating during Covid, how pleasant and efficient they were and how they continue to exemplify the best of Sandy Springs."

"We waited 10 minutes without any service, then a guy finally came over to take our order. Moments later, a girl approached us, and we informed her that someone had already taken our order. She responded with annoyance, asking, "Who was it?" When we told her it was a guy, she rolled her eyes and walked off. After our food was served, the female server tried to overcompensate with excessive friendliness to make up for her earlier reaction, which only added to the unpleasant experience. "A staff member who introduced herself as Jenny was incredibly pretentious and rude when I asked her a few simple questions—it was truly shocking. She radiated an unfriendly energy, rolling her eyes and sighing dramatically before I even spoke to her, yet she positioned herself at the counter where I was trying to place my order. After her dismissive and passive-aggressive responses to my basic inquiries, I realized talking to her was pointless. I decided to give up on ordering anything from the kitchen and planned to grab food elsewhere. I walked to the other side of the store to check out with an alternative cashier, expecting to evade further interaction with Jenny, given how unkind she had been. However, she followed me and stood right between me and the gentleman behind the smoothie counter as I tried to ask him to check me out instead. I told her I didn’t want her help and asked if someone else could assist me, but she blatantly ignored my request. She made condescending remarks about how I was upset because an item I wanted wasn’t available, when in reality, my only concern was the bizarre hostility I was facing from a complete stranger. When I asked her why she was being rude, she simply laughed and claimed she wasn’t doing anything, but she never changed her demeanor. Throughout my attempt to check out, she stared at me like an angry lizard. Instead of waiting for me to use the credit card machine like a normal person, she rudely reached over and pressed the buttons herself, causing so much confusion that we had to start the transaction over. Perhaps she had dealt with a difficult customer before me and couldn’t separate that experience from her interactions? Or maybe she just treats everyone poorly? I asked her again why her behavior was so strange, and she insisted that I was the odd one. I’m not certain if “Jenny” is her real name; she was quite short, had dark hair, wore lipstick, and seemed to be in her 20s or 30s. I was having a good day until I walked into the Oaks. I believe people come to cafes to relax and recharge, not to be the emotional dumping ground for someone who’s having a bad day or is simply unfriendly. I can only assume that employees like her don't show this side to their managers, because if they did, I can't imagine why they would keep her employed; unfriendly staff are detrimental to a small business. I have to guess that the sandwiches here are still really good, but I can’t say for sure—I didn’t get that far."
