"I tried one of their original dishes, the "Chicken Stix," which features grilled chicken skewers served with a baked potato. Both were well-cooked and flavorful, though I found the chicken slightly bland. It was moist and juicy, but I felt it could have benefitted from a marinade or sauce to enhance its flavor. Fortunately, the waitress was happy to provide me with a cup of one of their many sauces, which improved the dish nicely.
My sister ordered her favorite, the "Lemon Chicken Pasta." It's worth noting that it's not quite what one might expect from a lemon chicken dish. Instead, it features a tomato-based sauce with vegetables and a hint of spice. While it’s not to my personal taste, many others seem to enjoy it.
Spankies is also known for its bread—a soft, fluffy bread topped with a moist, cheesy layer. Unfortunately, on this visit, it was a bit stale and dry, which was surprising since I have never encountered that before. However, we dined during the lunch rush, so that could explain the inconsistency. Despite the busy atmosphere, our waitress remained attentive and ensured we were taken care of."
