"We were walking do along the street and saw the bright lights of Bier Markt.Looked at menu and seemed ok, if not on the higher end but you are not a local pub, its a chain with lots of TV's and more.As we checked in we were informed that it was only the second day (August 18) that they had allowed under 18 in the restaurant area .We had to sit upstairs.Waiter was friendly and attentive, but pushed the extras very hard, I was upsold to a Large mug of beer, mostly because I thought he said for $3 more I got the mug, it turned out I just got a bigger beer! We ordered a pretzel and sausage starters, then the upselling came and he urged us to get another starter, so another plate of sausages. When the arrived we saw why, the were small, very small - the pretzel was exactly what we expected. All the food was tasty , but still pricey. For mains we got 2 burgers and 2 chicken schnitzels. Again all food was good. When we were done and learned I was not taking home the cool mug, we asked for the check. Here in Montreal when you pay by credit card they give you the machine and stand over you while you do the payment and tip.I could feel the waiter seething as I gave him 10% of the total before taxes.Next time he should not push so hard, he was lucky to get any tip at all.Total with taxes and tip was $175 , which is a lot for 1 adult and three teenagers, once they are old enough to get a beer I will avoid this place as its way to expensive."

"was in a past not in the tresor, but it used to be one of our favorites. tonight was not so good. they no longer offer a brot and butter basket to begin as cheap. they want $1.50 for it. the times must be hard...if you have to buy the usual free items. the dish that was my favorite chicken with the mushroom cheese sauce is no longer. replaces with a chicken olive-tatenade court, not my cup tee. the tent for the braided short ribs has a lot of grumbs, but otherwise the bark was cooked well. the kartoffels, which have a roasted garlic flavor, were ruined with a rosemary/thyme/aka-threck aroma to my taste buds. the sweet were well roasted, but there was a strange sweeter fruity as well as ardent sauce among them, which seemed to be a strange sauce to add to the bark sword. the waitress offered to get something else, but to be honest the menu seemed missing me and more pub like with fish and chip and burger options. we ate it, we did not like it and found the new menu disappointing. my man ordered steak and garnel and he also found the carrots tasting funky/ herby/dirt like. his prawns, which he was disappointed, were dampened and contaminated by the aromes of the agitated swirl, he tried to wipe it off, but still meh. eating was simply not our style and we missed the garlicky creamy aromas we used. So if they like herby beds like aromen, this is the place for them! When we looked around, we also noticed a shift of the clientele. it seems what is useful to be a living, band playing, martinis flowing, type location that we found it filled with seniors that seem really enjoying themselves. So our review would be beautifully decorated, beautiful server, not so good eating and just no longer what we like in a restaurant. we will not get back with a $16 discount. maybe they try to get more of a farm to table style space and more earthly? only different and not, what we could look forward to."

"Tried to give this place a chance on many occasions but it has been a disappointment every time. We have tried lunch and dinner; everything from the steak dinners to their salads and sandwiches and nothing has been worth the money. Order chips andsalsa and we paid over $8 for a small portion of dollar store Pace brand salsa and cheap chips, the pretzels are the pretzelsyou get from the freezer isle at the grocery store likely microwaved. We got the New York steak dinners, never given the warmrolls with butter as said on the menu, my steak and potatoes were very cold and my husband's were luke warm. Steaks were mostlygristle and tough. Salads, sandwiches and everything we have tried were prepackaged ingredients and unimpressive. We areTOTALLY understanding of being short staffed.. we are the most patient people but.. the wait for the food and the fact of itcoming to the table COLD and barely warm is unacceptable. After working in the food industry for years and exploring localcuisine in Amador and calaveras counties, this is probably one of the more disappointing venues I have been to in the area . Wedon't mind waiting for fresh hot food but ours was neither. Salads, appetizers and other foods are pre packaged, frozen food. There is so much potential at this place, but their food lacks the love and passion that could make it a great culinary spot forour community to get together and enjoy. The staff was very nice and the view is pretty nice too is why I give them 2 stars. This place could be an amazing spot if they started making their own dishes instead of serving pre- made ingredients. Lack oflove, creativity and passion in their food is evident."
