"My boyfriend and I just bought a house here. We are quickly discovering Scranton food is … weird. This pizza is one of the better pizzas we’ve had (out of maybe 12 pizzerias). We ordered NY style since he lived there as a boy and frankly the other pizza had American cheese on it, which is disgusting. There was this weird flavor though specifically with the cheese. It tasted like Kraft Mac N Cheese powder! Why does everything here have the flavor that it once came from a box? This is not the apocalypse yet guys. Additionally, they clearly use jarred garlic rather than fresh when ordered on (the other) pie. It tastes super sharp. Everyone in Scranton seems to be getting away with mediocrity. I don’t see this is sustainable. This place was okay otherwise though. Great crust. Okay sauce. Mostly good cheese."

"This neighborhood staple has been around since the 70's. It started out in a small no non sense building with a just a couple of tables to sit at. They were mainly used for patrons to sit at while they waited for their pickup orders. Their reputation for preparing great food and friendly service had proceed them and had people returning over and over again. Which has lead to what the restaurant has become to today. It's reputation is 10 to non. It's now a great place to meet up with friends or family to enjoy conversations while enjoying great food with a friendly professional staff. It's not like some other Italian restaurants were is dimly lit and conversation is low key. It's vibrant inside and has a great atmosphere. It's always humming. We were greeted promptly by the hostess, who was a young man and were seated right away. Their attention to detail and urgency to get one seated as soon possible was much greatly appreciated. He also asked us what we wanted to drink. We were handed menus to look at. I must say this. They have the most enticing menu with a wide variety of menu options to choose from. From Chicken Parmigiano to Baked White fish to Salads or pizza., burgers or Reubens. After looking over the menu I decided to go with I remembered as a kid. I order a pizza, as this was one of their stables and one that helped build the restaurant from the early days. They had always been known for their pizza and fish. Neither one, I remembered as kid, ever disappointed us as we had both every Friday. (See the below picture) Dad decided to have the Antipasto salad with their homemade house dressing. Within no time, as we sat talking, the food had arrived to us. Hot and both dishes looking delicious. The cheese bubbling on the pizza and the crust just crispy enough. The salad loaded with all it's toppings. We dug in to enjoy our meals. It brought back memories. The pizza with its traditional pepperoni and zesty sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese..hmmm it looked yummy and it was as I remember as a kid. On the other side, the Antipasto salad had large slices of salami and ham and cheese. Dad had ordered a small and it really could had feed two people. As we sat and enjoyed our meal I looked around the restaurant and seen nothing but happy people enjoying their meals and conversation and time together. That was a testament to Frienzes reputation as a great restaurant that I high recommend coming too. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and highchairs Wheelchair accessibility: They do have handicap parking available"

"we had a reservation inside for 16, the day of i got a notice it was changed to 20 people, no one had access so they did it and moved us outside, The road noise was horrible but we discovered inside had no ac it was warm and too loud music. They food was good Alex the server was first class and outside was not so bad after all, its a neighborhood Italian with a bit more on the menu. The pizza was very good with a great crust"

"Stopped for the night on a cross country roadtrip. The hotel staff recommended the Roman Castle. We were so glad they did. The food was absolutely awesome. Best pizza ever and the cute desserts were delicious and fun. It was difficult to decide what to order for an entree, it all looked and sounded amazing. "Local place to my home in Washington township. Figured I?d give it a try, being that it was an ?Italian? restaurant. Thought I would ignore the 4.1 stars and give it a try. Service was lackluster at best. The bartender was not attentive at all. Neverreally completed in one task at a time. Not for nothing, after being in Italy and having traveled the world; this food was thecomplete opposite of ?Italian cuisine?. The bread wasn?t warm and the ?marina? sauce was cold. For the appetizer I tried thevegetable minestrone soup. Was a bit bland. The chicken parmigiana was a greasy disaster of a frozen chicken patty made byTyson. The ?marinara sauce? had the consistency of Heinz ketchup and was bland. Didn?t finish the meal. For $30 and the servicedon?t waste your time."

"A Sicilian friend told me this is not real Italian. We, however, decided to decide for ourselves after having read a positive review in The Detroit Free Press. Having lived in Italy, I have a high bar for what constitutes 'real Italian '. This restaurant fell short. We had to ask to be served water after having been seated for ten minutes or so. A short time later, the waiter brought my husband 's beer first and my sparkling water close to 7 minutes after that. We had to ask for bread which our waiter told us was in the oven. When he brought it to us it was certainly not out of the oven it was room temperature. I was assured my pasta would be al dente. It was mushy. I told the waiter as much when he asked how our meals were. He offered to have another plate made but I declined. He took away my food barely eaten. I ordered gnocchi to go and asked for it to be ready by the end of our meal. He told me 'no problem ', yet, we had to wait a good 10 minutes to get it. It was not good. If you don 't know Italian and are starving and in a bind, do not order any pasta if you 're picky. Otherwise, pass; it 's the equivalent of Olive Garden. I don 't know anyone who works at or owns this restaurant. I 'm writing this on my own volition based on my experience."

"I made a reservation for breakfast at and when we arrived the restaurant said that they stop serving breakfast at When we checked the reservation system they had me noted for which was for their lunch service in the bar. Seems to be an issue between the open table reservation system and theirs which was very frustrating, especially since I was looking forward to a nice brunch since we were celebrating a birthday. The restaurant was completely unhelpful but the manager of the hotel was lovely and even validated our parking ticket. Be careful if yuh book a reservation through here. I would call the hotel directly since the system is not synced. Place looked empty on a Sunday during the height of brunch, which makes me wonder how good the food or service is anyway"

"My husband and I really enjoyed our evening here. The service was a little slow, but our server was very nice. The food was excellent! We had the bruschetta as our appetizer, it was so delicious. I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the veal marsala. They were both divine. The lobster ravioli had big pieces of lobster throughout the whole dish. For desert we shared the tiramisu, we enjoyed it immensely! I highly recommend dining here and can't wait to go back!"
