"When the correct meal finally arrived, my fiancé was so frustrated that he just wanted to take it home. We asked for a to-go box and the check, leaving a 20% tip despite all the mistakes. However, my fiancé accidentally left his to-go box on the table. We stood right outside the front door for about five minutes so our daughter could play in the grass. I then noticed that my fiancé didn’t have his box, so he went back inside only to find out that his food—worth $20—had been thrown away. After just five minutes, the staff had cleared our table and tossed the food in the trash! What kind of policy is this? Do you train your staff to immediately discard to-go boxes? No one bothered to check outside where we were standing just a few steps away from the big glass doors. No one thought to bring the box to the host stand in case we returned. It’s unbelievable to waste food like that, showing such a lack of courtesy for customers’ time and money. When I called to speak with a manager, I was told that it was our fault for leaving the food behind, and that I was wasting their time by calling. We’re human; sometimes we forget things and realize it later. A courtesy wait of 15 minutes before tossing out a meal would have made all the difference. Clearly, the new management doesn’t care about the customers, and that lack of concern will soon reflect in their profits. I plan to advise everyone to avoid this place and save themselves the hassle of spending money on subpar service. To our server, we treated you kindly and thanked you, even though your service was lacking. However, during our phone call, you spoke to me dismissively just because I was shocked that you threw away our food after only five minutes. In all my years in the service industry, I would never have discarded a customer’s meal that quickly. Just because most people don’t come back for their food doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give them the chance to do so—that’s basic customer service. Treat people how you would want to be treated. Show more care for your establishment and the patrons who choose to dine there. Either do better or don’t bother at all."
