"The Legends of Clatonia is a restaurant located about 88 miles southwest of Omaha in the small town of Clatonia. If it was not part of 2017 Nebraska Passport Program we would never have found it. The restaurant has a bar area with a few tables and three separate dining rooms. We were there early on a weekday evening, so there were few customers present, but I think the layout would keep the noise level at a minimum even when it was full. The atmosphere is one that you would expect in a small town, almost everyone knew each other and the staff was very friendly. If you get there when it is not busy and you meet Uncle Ron (the Owner), he might offer you a tour of the restaurant, take him up on it. Every picture and knickknack has a story that is connected to Clatonia and it will make for an very interesting experience. All the dinners include a salad bar and you can add a bowl of soup for $4.99. The salad bar consists of locally produced and prepared items. I had the salad bar and my wife had the salad bar with Corn Chowder, which she said was delicious. I had the Rib Eye steak with sautéed mushrooms and a baked potato. The only fixings that you can get for the potato are butter and sour cream. I like my steaks charred rare and they gave it a good sear while keeping it cool in the center. It was also one of the most tender and favorable Rib Eyes I 've had. My wife had a Petite Sirloin cooked medium well with a baked potato. Her steak was also prepared perfectly. They bring out a desert try that is so tempting that no matter how full you are, you have to order desert. I had a piece of Pecan Pie. The pie is made with Maker 's Mark Whisky and is delicious. My wife had the Reese 's Pieces Cheese Cake which was also delicious. This is definitely a good dinner option if you are in the Lincoln area and worth the trip from Omaha if you can schedule your visit early on a week day and you meet Uncle Ron ."
