"The pizza was very lack luster. The service was great but that couldn't bring up my review. The salad was soggy but then again its a pizza place not a salad place. The pizza crust was solid as a rock and somewhat cold by the time it got to the table. I like Quad city style pizza but this wasn't a great representation of it. The place itself wasn't too loud so great place to grab a bite catch up with friends before a show at second city. But its food to fill your stomach, not really for enjoying."

"The service and ambiance here was excellent. The menu was very well rounded. We got filet mignon and Royal Red Shrimp to share with salads, sauteed garlic mushrooms and baked potato. There were baskets of a variety of breads and two kinds of butter. Truffles were provided at the end of the meal. It was a beautiful dining experience!"

"My first time going to Roots was on a bad day for me but Natalie and the Southwest Chicken Salad made everything better. I literally have to go once a week now at least. Better yet I seem to be lucky enough to see Natalie every time. She?s amazinglyfriendly and remembers my name and new favorite meal every time. I was shocked to find out she wasn?t the manager I?m sure oneday she will be. I will recommend the food to every and anyone in South Loop and hope they all get to meet the nicest hostessthat always makes my day better!! "Full disclosure: My cousin and his wife own this restaurant. I dined there last night and tried the garlic noodles, crispy tofu, and two vegan tacos. My friend opted for a customized version of the garlic noodles and ordered the adobo fries. We also enjoyed some Stubborn Soda. The food was fantastic, with fresh ingredients and generous portions. My girlfriend took home the remaining noodles and adobo fries. The sauce for the crispy tofu was absolutely delicious, and the vegan tacos were heavenly. They have outdoor seating available, allowing for safe dining."
