"Feb 2022We came here several times before this review. All the food tasted great, with some things they could work on. The prices are pretty average for a boutique bakery (more expensive than a supermarket) and definitely worth it. This place is pretty small but obviously very popular. The staff are friendly and bag your purchases for you (even if you bring your own bag). All the staff wear masks and there are no dividers or occupancy restrictions. They provide hand sanitizer at the door. Most of the buns and pastries are on the shelves around the store. They are periodically restocked by the staff throughout the day, but certain favorites still go fast. If you don't see something you want on the shelves, just ask a staff member if it's available. On the shelves to the right are the breads, croissants, and cookies. They have a fridge in the front left corner with the cheesecake slices, the sliced and whole chiffon rolls, drinks, and some pastries. Behind the counter are the puff pastries, cakes/tarts, and whole cheesecakes.I admit we first came here for the cream puffs and the matcha stuff. The cream puffs were bigger than expected but the inside filling was pretty watery/not thick enough. Either they didn't whip it enough or the storage space wasn't cold enough and the cream reverted back to liquid form. They all tasted very good though. For the matcha, the one with the most matcha flavor was the cream puff. The matcha cheesecake, chiffon cake, and normal fruit cake had very little matcha flavor. Kinda disappointing though they were very good otherwise. All the buns and cakes were fluffy and light. Though the matcha cheesecake was too dense (maybe matcha powder is too heavy The regular cheesecake was awesome. The pastries with fillings had generous amounts of fillings and were pretty good. The taro and red bean paste fillings were very delicious. The donuts were not too sweet with a chewy donut texture. Note when you get a whole cheesecake, the cheesecake is wrapped in this thin cloth that keeps it moist (very important for a Japanese style cheesecake For the normal (birthday) cakes, note they are all fruit cakes. So they have fruit both on top and inside the cake. They also use whipped cream frosting instead of icing, making the cakes lighter and less sweet than typical American cakes. We got a 6 matcha cake. And while the cake itself was light and fluffy, it was more fruit and whipped cream than cake. And the matcha flavor was practically nonexistent. It was still good cake, but disappointing. Note the box the cakes come in are very sturdy and I think they use one size box for all the cake sizes.Overall, will definitely come back for some pastries, cheesecakes, and chiffon rolls."

"The first time I tried to go here I had to wait for my sister to come back from a woodworking class where she built some sort of stool. She ended up staining the stool in our living room and it made the smell so strong. She said she was gonna be baxk around noon so we can go but she ended up getting back at like 130! When we got there, the kitchen literally closed after the person in front of us order. So in unlucky!! Ended up getting a coffee and a pasty but I can’t remember what it was like. So fast forward a month or so we went here again but this time left early enough around 11 to actually make it in time. First though we went to the sidecar donut shop and we thought it was closed and was shocked! But it turns out the door was heavy and we weee able to go in. Then we went to traders joe to get some ingredients but there wasn’t a way to buy a single carrot so we decided to go to alfies later instead. Once we finally get to pinwheel we were waiting in line and struggled to read the menu because my vision is kinda bad and I should consider getting lasik. The only hesitation I have is that it seems scary and I am a bit of a chicken with things going into my eyes. I was struggling on deciding behind choosing between three sandwiches of the Parisian, the Marius and Brie. Parisian seemed good but it was only ham and butter and this was the last day before my diet and I didn’t want to waste it. The Marius seemed interesting but I saw that there was olives inside but I kinda wanted tuna. The Brie also looked good but I was worried my gf was going to yell at me for eating so much cheese since my face was sensitive and it’s causing me pimples. Like there was one week where I was eating lasagna and pizza a lot and then my face started breaking out which I got in trouble for. In the ended up choosing Brie and pretended it wasn’t cheese but she noticed and said she Wander bros me and can’t blame her for it. I also saw a little puppy next to us that only wanted to lick a bluebery and didn’t actually eat. Haha what a lil dummy"
