"Tried this restaurant about 5 years ago and it was terrible, the chicken was rubbery, there was just nothing about anything we had that was better than mediocre. Although the dessert we had was good. We decided to give it another try after someone was raving about the short ribs. We had to get a reservation months in advance. I was expecting the food to be much better since it 's always so busy. I 'll start with the positives, service was good, food came out fairly quickly, they serve pretty good bread with both butter and olive oil dip, and all of that was really good. The french fries are fresh cut and those were also good, although the garlic and gorgonzola dipping sauces were quite bland. The key lime pie was fantastic although it was a pretty small piece for $12, extremely overpriced! Everything on the menu is overpriced. They had a sweet potato maple bourbon bisque that was really great, creamy texture and great flavor. My friend got the pork belly but was unimpressed. I was so excited for the short ribs, the waiter said they had been braised all day and that it 's a customer favorite. It was so disappointing, I went to cut into it with my fork expecting it to be tender and fall apart and it was so tough I had to use a knife to cut it, it was not tender. Flavor was mediocre. But the texture was extremely disappointing. The mashed potatoes were decent, nothing to write home about...as was the asparagus. Will definitely not be back, way overpriced for disappointing quality. If you want delicious, fork tender, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, short rib... go to vault@237. response to owner* actually the waiter said maybe it was a bad cut or fatty that WASNT the issue. they were not cooked properly to be tender. why would i wait around for you to cook them for another 30 minutes til they were as tender they shouldve been in the 1st place?! as for bringing in water bottles we arent interested in drinking chemical tap water...i review restaurants regularly and you are the only person that has ever said a word about it...so no, most restaurants do not have that policy. you say you allowed us, as if you think you have the right to control if people drink their own filtered water. thats absurd!"

"Real Sicilian Fare, Wonderful Cocktails, Housemade Limoncello. I have been to Gigi 's a number of times since it 's opening. This is a wonderful place to have a relaxing dinner or sit at the bar and enjoy cocktails and appetizers with friends or a date. The food has always been phenomenal-with an emphasis on quality fresh ingredients that are allowed to shine without the over seasoning that so often occurs at many restaurants in our area. I shouldn 't be subjected to the overpowering scent of garlic in the parking lot which happens at many eating establishments in WNY. On our most recent visit I enjoyed the Panelle-described as Sicilian Street Food. This mouthwatering appetizer is what can best be described as a fritter, made with chickpeas and deep fried. Cooked to perfection with a light, thin crust, the inside was hot creamy goodness. Served with a lemon aioli and caprese salad. It was apparent the tomatoes were freshly picked, and this was confirmed by the owner who said they were from her garden. My son and I split a dozen steamed clams, which I have had a number of times. They were plump and fresh, served with drawn butter and lemon wedges. These never disappoint. I enjoyed a Blood Orange Martini before we ate. This was very nice-not too sweet. The waitstaff is always pleasant, accommodating, and attentive. They are knowledgeable about the menu and if they are not sure will happily ask the chef. The owner is dedicated to supporting local businesses and farms, and this is apparent by the quality of the food she serves. The bartender, Gino is friendly and also happy to share so of his favorite dishes as well as sing an aria! He is an amazing and talented baritone. Don 't forget to try the Housemade Limoncello!"

"My husband made reservations for Valentine’s Day ten days ahead of time and the reservation was confirmed (with a fee of $20, non-refundable if we cancelled within 24 hours of the booking). We got a sitter for our little one and arrived on time for our 5:30 reservation, only to be told by the hostess that we weren’t on the list. My husband pulled up the confirmation text and email, only to find that it showed it was canceled 2 days prior, this was shown when he pulled up the website sent from the reservation confirmation, we were NOT sent any email or text telling us the reservation was canceled! In the meantime, four other couples entered the restaurant, and of those only one couple was on the list, this left us and 3 other couples who had reservations cancelled without any kind of notification! The 2 hostesses were young and extremely unprofessional, they looked like deer in the headlights and just kept telling us there was nothing they could do. We asked if we could speak with a manager and they told us he was in the kitchen helping cook because they were running behind. We asked if the hostess could let him know about the situation, she went into the back briefly and came back again stating there was nothing they could do for us. One of the girls said to the other that the manager (who is the owner) had cancelled “a bunch” or reservations for the day due to “overbooking.” So the manager/owner caused the problem, had 4 separate couples in his restaurant who had made reservations and then not been informed they were cancelled, and he didn’t even have the courtesy to come out and talk to us. I can’t believe how unprofessional the whole situation was. The girls at the front were too young and undertrained to be up at the hostess stand because they had no idea how to handle the situation, my husband had to prompt them on everything like requesting the manager. We then asked if we could receive a voucher for free dessert or drinks, or gift card to make up for the whole inconvenience, the girls said they couldn’t do that but that if we came back on another day and mentioned it to the server, maybe they could do that for us. That’s horrible customer service. My husband then requested to be contacted by the manager/owner the next day, one of the girls (I believe she's the owner’s daughter) took down his name and number we received no call. So there we were on Valentine’s Day with nowhere to go for dinner. Even if we had known the reservation was canceled, it was canceled only TWO days prior! We wouldn’t have been able to find anywhere else that wasn’t already fully booked by then. There has been absolutely no attempt to rectify the situation. We will never come back to this restaurant, the whole situation was handled incredibly poorly and unprofessionally. On a side note, for the prices this place charges, the atmosphere was subpar. There was absolutely nothing done to make it look nice for Valentine’s Day, no ambiance, no flowers or candles on the table. It’s not hard and there was clearly no effort put in."
