"We had reservations but no one came to assist us or take our order. Other patrons were complaining about the long wait for their food, even though there was only one other table with people and the bar had only five customers. We decided to leave, which is unusual for a Saturday night at 7:30pm in Midtown Sac. It must have been really bad if we chose to find another place to eat on a spur of the moment Saturday night, when it's typically difficult to get a table anywhere. The seats were torn and the tables were sticky."

"The evening started off well, but things took a turn when my friend (the birthday girl) was not allowed to enter the restaurant. I had called ahead to discuss our reservations with a team member who failed to mention their ID policy. We were surprised when the security guard refused to allow us to bring in gifts, although balloons were allowed. Strangely, the security guard did not check our IDs, but insisted on seeing the birthday girl's ID. Even after pleading with the manager, he upheld the decision and mentioned they had just implemented the ID policy. It would be helpful for the restaurant to communicate these new rules to guests when they make reservations, and to include them on the website. Unfortunately, my friend was unable to fully enjoy her 21st birthday celebration due to these unforeseen restrictions."

"I'm sort of torn on Blue Giant. I ordered food for takeout a few times during COVID and have been once to eat in. This is PRICY chinese food which I wouldn't have a problem with but the dishes are really hit or miss. The fried dishes I've had are all good the dry crispy chicken, the crispy beef, the shrimp wontons. The spicy stir fried eggplant was flavored all right but they were giant hunks of eggplant, they could have been cut smaller to make them easier to eat. The mapo tofu was some of the worst I've ever had. The cumin lamb noodles had a weird flavor. If you go, stick with the fried dishes."

"Great happy hour! Half-priced everything! First drink was more mixer than cocktail, but overall, the drinks were good and the staff was really friendly attentive. (A big thumbs up to the only bartender who was taking orders for the whole place when we arrived. The mister didn't like that there was too much dry rub on the wings, but the fries and my burger were very tasty. Pverall, we were happy and will be back."

"This place was recommended by a friend. Had a reservation for 8pm. Arrived early and was happy to wait at bar until then. Told we could not wait had to come back at 8pm, the restaurant was empty. Confused by this we waited in lobby in case something opened up. A friend (male) we saw at a previous event was happily seated at bar with no reservation. "My wife I have been coming to this place since they open! Their menu is very diverse and has many vegetarian non-vegetarian dishes! We shared several plates here like pomegranate meatballs, cilantro salmon, piroshki (stuffed saffron patties), butter shrimps, short ribs! In the past. We also have tried the spinach salad, beet stack, and hummus plate as well! All dishes were very flavorful unique like no other place in nwa area! in this visit we tried their four course chef sampler for $65 for 2 person, to try their new dishes! They also have the best cheesecake hands down! I would recommend this place for a date night or for groups of friends!"

"We decided to try out this restaurant on a whim, and we were promptly seated at the back bar, right in front of Adam, the chef and owner. It was a delight to watch him prepare the entrees while engaging in conversation. It truly felt like we were dining at a friend's house. The food was outstanding! We've returned several times since our first visit. I highly recommend that you give Uptown 51 a try for yourself!"

"The atmosphere is fantastic and a very cool place to see. Very sad that there aren’t shows very often anymore as that would have made our experience much better. The snacks were good and drinks weren’t bad, but very pricey for what you get. I made one of my drinks a bowl, which says upgrade for $30. My fault for not realizing (until I got the check) that that meant pay an additional $30 on top of the regular price of the drink. So I paid $47 for a drink that wasn’t the biggest or the strongest, and I didn’t even get to keep the cup. It was on the slower side so not the night we were hoping for, but besides prices was still fun to experience one time. Our waiter was nice, but there were a few mess ups once he had a couple extra tables. The staff was dressed in character but I didn’t feel like there was much of a performance going on. So without a show it was kind of just an expensive bar with cool decor. Would recommend as a one time thing, but make sure you’re weary of prices."
