"Took friends, new to the area, to introduce them to what used to be one our favorite stops in San Juan Capistrano. The place is so adorable and such a nice setting, but our food this evening was way below the standard normally experienced at Sun Dried Tomato. We ordered the Special which one would assume all chefs had been fully vetted and trained on the procedure. We had the Grilled Halibut I put that in quotes because it was anything BUT!! First of all it was griddled not grilled as the menu declared, we saw a totally seared and tough exterior only to be outdone by the way over cooked fish. It was tough, flavorless and and a huge embarrassment for us as we introduced a new California resident to your restaurant. While our very nice and accommodating server did try to have them cook up a new piece of fish for us, it came out seared again to toughness but completely raw on the inside rendering it uneatable. If I were the GM at this restaurant, I would dismiss that cook immediately. Our server did the right thing and removed it from the bill, we had 2 servings, and we tipped him as if the bill was full, it remains one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Just to note, every time we have been to this restaurant, we have had the best meals, might be a while before we give another go."

"We dined at Sundried Tomato three years ago and had a pleasant experience. However, this visit was quite different. The restaurant was very crowded, resulting in a high noise level, which is manageable if you're expecting it. The service was acceptable, but the food was rather disappointing. The spring roll appetizers were overly crunchy and lacked flavor. While the lamb chops were enjoyable, the potatoes served alongside them were undercooked and not particularly flavorful. Overall, it was a mediocre dining experience."

"This is the worst place I have ever been... DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON deal from here !!! I PROMISE, it is an awful place, Most of the bartenders are friends regulars and they let them drink free... This is not a sports bar, they are biased with what sports are available. We had a Terrible experience here. I see most of the good reviews are from like 3 or 4 years ago but this is new, 2024, August 15th. I do not recommend coming to this place. Hey Bar friends !!! There are so many other taverns and sports bars in the area, JJs, Starz, Star Lake Inn, Brickyard, those are food spots with way better food and drink prices, Save yourself the money, the time, and the trouble. Terrible customer service, they treat their customers horribly. Not Friendly to all races and extremely racially biased. The food is awful and meat is always undercooked. They weren't playing when they said a loaf of meat... No seasoning on anything and its never tested with a meat thermometer, It's just not good and unsafe. I don't recommend, neither do most of the folks who live in the vicinity or who I meet at neighboring restaurants/bars. Do yourself a favor and go down the street so you dont get sick. Trust me, its not a one time review. Its all the time. I gave this bar so many chances and nothing has changed over 5 years. Highly do NOT recommend this sad establishment and many of us are just waiting for them to close permanently. Health department has been contacted."

"I was very disappointed during my first visit. My companions ordered the rib tips and BLT, both of which were good, and the appetizer platter was decent (though a bit small for the price). I have to say, the jalapeño poppers were fantastic. However, I ordered the Back Daniel's potatoes and beef, which was described as sliced beef with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and peppers in Jack Daniel's gravy served over potatoes. Instead, what I received was shredded beef that had lost all texture, with just a few sliced mushrooms in gravy over the potatoes. It looked unappetizing, and unfortunately, the taste matched the appearance. Based on my meal, I wouldn't recommend this place, but my companions enjoyed their food, so it might be worth being cautious about what you order. On a positive note, the waitress was excellent!"

"Nahvia was my waitress and she was not good at all they charge a 20% gratuity for large party's even if you split the bill and everyone orders at different times the food took forever to get there and if you need anything after your food gets there you better get up and get it yourself had to go to the bar just to order my second drink"

"This was a lovely location but there were so many little things that weren't quite right. My husband and I and our two kids rented a room over the summer and just walking down the hallway there were circles of LED light at eye-level which just seemed like a really bad design. We were coming to picnic in the park most days and the refrigerator was smaller than our cooler which seemed silly for a hotel on the campground. We went swimming the first day because it was hot out and let me tell you we got her every single time we got in the pool. They have teenagers for lifeguards who will not tell the adults to stop spraying kids with water from the Jets and they have their cool water slide cranked up too fast going into only three and a half feet of water and the teenagers will tell you it's clear and then they'll be a kid at the bottom of the pool. The whole pool is coated in this Sandy paint foregrip I suppose but it really hurts when you ride around their little circle jet River because if you run into the wall that all you're likely to lose skin. The underwater benches were an amazing touch because we had someone slightly disabled with us but the underwater bench that is by the kids area has a corner on it which really really hurts. Two of us got hurt and 30 minutes and the hotel didn't even have waterproof Band-Aids so there was literally regular dirty Band-Aids floating in the pool water, really disappointing. The check-in time was late in the checkout time was really early for the price of the and there was nowhere to hang four wet towels and four wet other than the closet over there carpet. Once you fill the fridge which was on the floor it condensated water onto their carpet as well.Every time you went to the restaurant all the teenagers acted like it was the first time we ever serve people and I waited 10 minutes of places to go order and just gave up and drove into town for food. it also seemed like the staff was like partying out on a balcony after the restaurant closed which was not great because they're just walking around the hotel doing what they want and you like paid to stay there.With a few tweaks this could be a really nice place, I really enjoyed the state park in the fact that we could go out and grill out of the park. The hiking was phenomenal. I just feel like there was a lot of inconveniences and poorly plan features, we paid about 150 a night to check in late and leave early ?"
