"I ordered the lunch special chicken Mongolian with rice. The portion size was generous and the food was freshly made. The rice was cooked perfectly, but the chicken Mongolian was a bit watery. I would suggest they improve the quality of the preparation, as everything else was great. They don't need to add more ingredients or increase the quantity, just a little more attention to detail in the preparation process would be beneficial. I would still recommend this restaurant."

"This is our new local BYOB favorite. We have been twice now. The staff is very warm and friendly and the food is excellent. If you like well cooked food and are willing to pay for very interesting tasting beautifully plated food then this is a great place. We went twice and both times they were great even with diet restrictions. It's charming, casual enough to walk in (if you can get in!), But also a great place to visit friends and relatives, or to have a special evening or date. The Wayne area needed a place like this. We will come back in any case."

However, the shrimp roll was overcooked and lacking in flavor, with just cabbage and two small shrimp. The pepper steak was decent but didn't have much meat. The beef lo mein was mediocre, mostly consisting of noodles with minimal meat or vegetables. The pork fried rice was also underwhelming, lacking in vegetables and egg. Despite these shortcomings, I found this restaurant to be better than others and would consider ordering from here again."

"Ordered for a couple of years and food was fine untill last week. Made a $45 order and food was horrible not even edible. Pepper steak with only onions and no steak, the meat was pink and rubbery like old pork besides the container only half full. Tofu dried out and could not be chewed. Moo goo guy pan was actually stale tasting and gummy like it was made days earlier. I called and was told I would be taken care of next order. Called a few days ago to re order was told to call another day. Called today was told my new order would receive a 10% discount. I complained and she got off the phone and came back on and said we only give 10% off for that issue. I told her take my name out of their system I will never order from them again. Buyer beware. $45 worth of food went in the garbage. I am not picky at all but this food was really bad."

"Very disappointed in the service and the food. Me and wifey went there to celebrate our 46 wedding anniversary and left there feeling unsatisfied and sorry we went there. The waitress was very cold, she rushed us and when I had a few questions about some dishes she got impatient and rushed away from our table then came back at least 15 minutes later. She was the most unfriendly waitress I have ever had, anywhere. The food was ok at best but the fried calamari was totally horrible. It looked more like onion rings, and was very rubbery. It was so bad we only had one bite then left the rest. I have been going to Zen since they opened. I even know the owner, David. It used to be owned by two brothers but I think they had a falling out a few years back. The one brother, Phil, opened a restaurant in Laurel across from Mission Barbecue several years ago. Anyway, I think it may be a very long time before I think about ordering from Zen again in the future. "This is the worst Chinese food in Delaware. Chicken is refried, not made daily and dry. You must request for the broccoli to be cooked or they will serve you raw broccoli and warm gravy. "My favorite dish here is the aubergines with garlic sauce. Unlike many restaurants that overload this dish with a thick, sweet sauce and little else, this place allows for much more nuance. One of the things I appreciate about this dish here is that I can customize it to my liking. Today, I had an absolutely delightful experience. There were a variety of fresh vegetables alongside generous portions of eggplant. I was able to enjoy it hot, and it was just perfect. It wasn’t overly sweet, had a mild salty flavor, and the sauce was exquisite. I am truly grateful for such a heavenly experience. Thank you!"

"I have been a loyal customer at this restaurant for many years. Their food is amazing, and the prices are very reasonable. Whenever I have a craving for Chinese food, this is my go-to spot. I always order a large amount of General Tso's chicken (not spicy) and lo mein for myself and my family. I typically opt for the Chef's Special to ensure we get the biggest portions, as I need the protein for my body. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are friendly. It's a family-owned business, with the wife running the front and the husband cooking in the back. In my opinion, they deserve a rating of 20/10."

"Stay at one of the hotel nearby for work. Hesistating as other bad review but no other chinese resto nearby. Got take away. Would say that the meal was American standard chinese resto but had to make review because of the pork szechuan. The flavor is not over done. Overly sweet or salty. Or oily. Its just ?? perfect. Highly recommend with only white rice. Btw the lady work there is super nice customer service. :"
