"the food is so good! so delicious! smoked chicken teeth had made me a little sigh/mouse every time I had to bite. order them as they are because all ingredients on the taco combined make it what it is. we made the sirloin, pork bell, fried chicken, garnelen tacos. churro do had a reservation for 10 o'clock, rose by 10:03 o'clock to the host. probably looked at 10:05 o'clock. hostess brought food cards and ice water and told us our waitress closes another table and would be right with us. only 2 waiters in our opposite and we accepted what she was because she worked a bigger table of women who all paid and went slowly. the waitress often looked at us. after 25 minutes of no one who came to the table, my man stood up to ask the hostess, and this is when our waitress finally came by and greeted me while my man was still talking to the hostess. so my man goes up and sits, we ordered all foods at once our drinks, appetizers and maines (tacos garlic fries.) I told her we wanted to get the drinks and appetizers first, then the tacos and pommes. they brought out the riders super fast (intended to come with tacos) then 15 minutes later they bring the appetizers, then she tells me that they did not have the cable and asked if I was red to order another taco, I ordered the smoked huh to replace the cadry. then, when they bring out the food, she says the kitchen already closed so that she was not able to do it, the chicken taco substitute. it was just annoying, and honestly, that was all like a funny series of unfortunate events for me in every other night with probably every other server. but it was their personality that just raised the annoying for me. not apologetic and seemed a little disturbed. everything she said was like “so uNfOrTuNaTeLy.” anyway, that’s all I’ll say, but also, again, eating everything was so damn good man!"

"I stopped by here yesterday early afternoon. I had never had the pizza here. Family members who live in CP say the pizza is just OK but my family here will eat just about anything, and it shows in their waistlines. I had to try this pizza out myself. I was here last year late at night with my dog and enjoyed an Alfredo pasta and liked it, so I know the kitchen staff is good. Carriage Court Pizza shares real estate with Crown Brewing. I like their beer, but will write a separate review for Crown Brewing. I will focus on the pizza here. I ordered a large (eight square slices) Detroit-style pizza with carmelized cheese with added spinach and onions . Never heard of a Detroit-style pizza. I thought Chicago-style ruled. I was not disappointed, though. What did disappoint me were the skimpy toppings. There were EIGHT spinach leaves on that pizza, ONE PER SLICE. EIGHT!!!! All that for $1.85? Add on another $1.85 for sliced onions, and we all know how inexpensive onions are. Sauce was also skimpy. Those eight slices turned into two meals for me. I did, however, like the airy crust. The edges were browned as per the Detroit style, and the sauce was tasty and the crust melted into a buttery feel once in the mouth. I must admit I liked the crust very much. This is no Domino 's or Gelsosomo 's. I just wish there were more spinach and onions. I sat outside with my dog early afternoon during this meal. The sun was slowly shrouding the patio in shade. The new covid rules require every other table off-limits. Dogs are no longer permitted on the patio past 4pm. I forgot to ask why the change. Was it because of a chihuahua that had had too much of the award-winning Dude Porter and lunged and attacked an unsuspecting customer? Service was good, food was good (except for the skimpy toppings) and came out in a decent time, and the beer from Crown Brewing was good (as always). I would order a Detroit-style pizza again but not order any toppings. This was a solid four-star dining experience."

"I first visited Papa Felipe's in 2019, just before the pandemic, and was impressed by their fantastic Mexican cuisine, reasonable prices, and exceptional service. The server even remembered my food allergy when I returned a few weeks later. It became the go-to spot for friends visiting from Long Island whenever they returned to New Mexico. My only complaint back then was the inadequate parking. However, my most recent experiences have been disappointing. After a terrible visit about a year ago, I hadn’t gone back until recently, when a friend insisted on trying it. On a weekend at 1:30 PM, the restaurant was mostly empty, and the food we received was good, but not great. We waited 36 minutes for our meals, despite the place having only 11 tables occupied. I noticed that prices have increased by 30% or more since late last year, with chips and salsa now costing $1.50. The service was still commendable, as our long-time server was attentive, but there were several major drawbacks. The bathroom was not clean, and there was a persistent unpleasant odor in the area. Additionally, the suggested tip amounts on the bill were mathematically incorrect. For instance, my total was $22.47, but the suggested tips of 18% ($4.93), 20% ($5.38), and 25% ($6.92) were all off. As a licensed high school math teacher, I can confirm that the correct amounts should have been 18% = $4.05, 20% = $4.50, and 25% = $5.63. I feel there has been a shift in the restaurant’s atmosphere since the pandemic, leaning away from the family-friendly hospitality, quality food, and excellent service they used to offer. Instead, we now see a sluggish kitchen, smaller portions, inflated prices, and misleading tips. I'm concerned this business strategy could lead to their downfall in the coming months. It’s disheartening to see such a great restaurant decline, especially after the departure of longtime manager and chef Larry. Fast forward to February 3, 2024, we returned to celebrate a birthday and redeem a birthday BOGO email reward. Unfortunately, the experience mirrored that of last month. While the wait staff was adequately attentive, one dish had to be returned because the ground steak, ordered well done, was severely undercooked. Additionally, when trying to use the BOGO offer, the manager insisted on physically taking my friend's cell phone to record and verify the coupon information, leaving the table for several minutes. This felt risky in today’s age of identity theft and made us very uncomfortable. Saving $12 wasn’t worth enduring that kind of treatment. In the future, we’ll likely choose other eateries like Cervantes, Los Cuates, Bruno’s, Monroes, or Casa Benavides instead."
